Yep, that would be a good way for him to end his collegiate career after probably thinking he would go by the wayside and no longer be important after his injury. He's a really good guy from what I hear, I'd like to see him do well in the NFL. When I said that Jones, Barrett, and Miller were all Heisman caliber players I was laughed at. I got the same laugh when I said all 3 would be returning to OSU. Still a long way to go but they sure proved me right thus far.
In other news, the Buckeyes don't play again until November 21. Absurd how easy their schedule is this year. I realize you can't help the conference play being down overall, but it's just staggering how different of routes some take to make it to the end.
They're the best team in the country, everyone looks easy to them. EHH OHHHH! Haha, just kidding. That's why they have the playoffs, it forces teams to play other tough teams eventually.
They are OSU, if they go unblemished or even with one loss to Mich St they are almost guaranteed to be in. Not saying it shouldn't be that way, but thats the way it is for sure. Same with Texas, Bama, etc...
My point is I think not having any competitive games for the entire season will bite them in the butt come playoff time in the final 4. I don't think there is any question they are going to be 1 of the 4 in. The question will be if playing the soft schedule will hurt them once they do play someone with a heartbeat.
Ah I misread where you were going there. That's a line of thinking I can definitely understand, will be interesting to watch unfold. I think more than hurting the players (they are talented for sure) it just makes it tougher for us fans to discern how good the team is. When they steamroll mediocre teams every single week, it's tough for us to gauge how they would stack up in the end vs elite teams. They could flop or they could surprise doubters and steam roll the good teams too sort of like last year.
I'm glad you clarified that, Trevor... I was starting to think maybe your feelings were still hurt from last season's playoff beating. I don't blame Brad, if his still are (59-0 is pretty harsh -and they have to play us damn near every year) . Bottom line, gents: It ALL gets settled on the field, in the playoffs; just as it did last season. We have a stable full of thoroughbreds and I know it doesn't seem fair, but that's part of the game. We play in what's perceived to be a "weak conference"..... ummm, until the bowl/playoff season!! (S.E.Who??) Germ.... hang in there, brother. Kim Hairball will have you guys back in that coveted #3 position (in the conference) within 5 years or so. And speaking of talking smack, where in the hell are all of those rabid (yet, delusional) LSU fans??? They used to LIVE in the water cooler...
Haha that's cute. Buckeyes finally win a BCS caliber game against the SEC for the first time in like a decade and all of the sudden you'd have thought they were standing on top all along.
Still stuck on last season, eh? I know, I'm sure it's hard for you to accept but we're in the 2015-2016 season now...and it looks like Ohio State is still pretty dang good.
Hard to tell, but it appears to me the Buckeye fans are the only ones stuck on constantly bringing up last year. Their re-emergence to relevance after years in the shadows sure has gotten annoying. Can't wait for someone to knock them off (Granted I'll have to wait until the playoffs for that since their schedule resembles that of my old HS team, the Greenwood Gators). As for this year, Tennessee Oklahoma should be a good game this weekend. Hoping to catch the score with a spare bar of service sometime Saturday but not holding my breath. Want to experience a weird game day? Watch your team for a noon kick off from Alaska, you are pregaming at 730am for a 9am kickoff!
I didn't see anyone talking much about last season, mostly about the thread topic which was week 1 and the game against VT. Nevertheless, I expect the haters are gonna hate. The SEC and it's speed had it's time, but now it's time to get back to the meat and potatoes. Cake walk regular season or not, the playoffs sort it all out.
