I don't think you can even put a number on how many times worse it would be if the role was reversed. The best example is Stephen A Smith. He said it was wrong then gives the excuses on why it happened. He stayed calm when he talked. If it was the other way around his hands would have been all over the place his voice would be raised he would be yelling so much you could see the spit come out of his mouth.
Haha people make too much out of a 19 year olds comments in the heat of the biggest loss of his life. He muttered it under his breath not intending for anyone to hear, later apologized and even called Kaminsky to apologize personally. As for no hand shakes, that's extremely common in the tournament. I agree it is distasteful, but tons of teams do it. Notre Dames entire team walked off the floor with out handshakes after UK beat them last week. Not defending Andrews comment, just that he really is a good kid who said something stupid under his breath. Most young superstars are punks (including previous UK teams) but this current bunch is a good bunch of kids. Makes it tough to watch them go after falling just short two years in a row...
I don't understand the "riots" in Lexington. Don't the winning teams fans usually riot? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
These days you just find any way you can to blow **** up, vandalize and act like you just escaped from the zoo. Historically... yes, for some reason winning a big game equates to a riot (still haven't figured that one out). Nowadays? Riot about anything!!
Those were overtalked from last night. The "riots" from last night were a few drunk kids going out and lashing out/acting stupid and getting arrested for it. Probably only slightly more than the average weekend of college arrests. UK is the pinnacle of College Basketball. They have 3 fans to 1 of any other team. With that comes 3 times the idiots.... The vocal few unfortunately seem to represent the group as a whole in the minds of outsiders. Happens in all walks of life though (The less you have to say, the louder you seem to say it).
Shoot, that was nothing. Typical for that part of town on a Saturday. Coach was at mass this morning. The homily was in large part based on the game last night.
Kaminsky would be kicked out of school, Al Sharpton would burn down the UW campus, Obama would cancel the championship game, and Twitter would explode. LOL
If this was the other way around, Sharpton and Jessie Jackson would be on the footsteps of UW already setting up rally's and protests claiming this was some type of hate crime. That's a guarantee. The fact that black people throw that word around to each other is despicable , especially because they are so sensitive if anyone else uses it. It either is a forbidden word, or it is not, there should be no double standards.
I agree in principle... but in reality, it's not that way. It's not culturally acceptable for you or I to say it... but it is for them. I don't see why it get's peoples panties all in a wad. I have no desire to say it in everyday speech. But that's another issue all together though. The embarrassing part is that he said "F*** Kaminsky" essentially.. not that he used the N word as all young AA males do.
Can you name one word that seems acceptable for me to call a fellow white person, but cannot use that word referring to another race? The fact that we as a society allow double standards for behavior is a major part of our problems.
