Didn't check. Have not read a thing. Didn't even know signing day was tomorrow. I could not name one guy that will sign.
OU is sitting at 13 or 14 right now. Hopefully we get the OL out of okc and a few other suprises. They could very well end up in the top 10 by the time it's over tomorrow. Still hearing Van Jefferson may come to Norman. My gut tells me he goes to Ann Arbor though.
Here is a surprising stat...there were zero former 5 star highschool players on either Super Bowl roster last weekend
Not really surprising There are thousands upon thousands of 2* and 3* recruits. There are like 150 4* and 30 5* recruits. So just by sheer volume, its not really surprising that the vast majority of players in the NFL are not 5* recruits. But they have done plenty of studies that show that percentage wise, 5* recruits have more success in the NFL. So yes, recruiting rankings do matter.
Yeah I already knew all that and did not insinuate that rankings do not matter. There are a good number of 5 star players in the NFL so I still found it at least mildly interesting. Both the Patriots and Seahawks have been very succesfull at turning mid round picks into very good players.
JH last TE was picked 34th overall and the first TE taken, what round are these guys projected to be in?
Michigan took an early-morning hit when it missed out on No. 1 tight end Chris Clark, who elected to sign with UCLA instead of the Wolverines. That, compounded with the fact that it failed to land Florida-bound defensive back Chris Williamson on Monday helped cast a dark cloud over the Signing Day in Ann Arbor. Michigan came up empty in its pursuit of wide receiver Van Jefferson, who chose Ole Miss, and also never really came close to landing USC signee Iman Marshall, a five-star defensive back that the Wolverines strongly pursued. That said, new head coach Jim Harbaugh took over late in the recruiting cycle and couldn't be expected to make that much of late splash in limited time. Harbaugh did land four Signing Day commits, including four-star Tyrone Wheatley.
We just got another QB from Houston, a Transfer. We are still in the running for the LB out of Georgia.
LOL, Nice move buckeye's On Wednesday morning, under pressure to do so in time to headline a Signing Day ceremony at his school, Cass Tech running back Mike Weber decided on Ohio State over Michigan by the slimmest of margins. On Thursday, Weber's position coach and lead recruiter for Ohio State left for the Chicago Bears. Weber:
Big deal. Kids commit and decommit every day. You commit to a school, not a coach. Coaches come and go, institutions do not.
If they hid it from the kid till after he signed, its a low class move. No way to argue against it. I'd say the same thing if LSU did it.
Once the LOI is signed one cannot decommit "Unconfirmed rumblings that an Ohio State BEAT WRITER knew the RB coach was leaving, but held off on reporting it so not to lose Mike Weber."
I see you say nothing about Jimmy telling Weber he was the only RB he would take, then took a flip from Iowa first thing in the morning. Or how he never told his QB recruits he would accept a transfer the day after signing day. How about Jimmy hiring people to secure commits and transfers like the Stanford kids mom, that coach from NJ etc etc. I didn't care enough to mention this stuff but when you bring up small potatoes when you have your own.
I don't know enough about Harboughs recruiting techniques... I just know that Meyer developed quite a reputation while at Florida for being dirty as hell. All the coaches hated him.
