Do you really think I'm suggesting all but the elite 6-8 teams shouldn't play football? That's the only way your analogy makes sense.

Hence me not pimpin' my dink rack.

I could be wrong... I took it as he said he doesn't get into these conversations because he is a U of SC fan.

To me meaning he doesn't get into these threads because the Gamecocks are just a "4 pointer" not a perennial powerhouse.

    EDIT
I see he cleared it up. I was replying as he posted.

But you did question why anyone would follow or discuss the other 109 teams.

I'm sure you have discussed or posted pictures of bucks you have killed right?

    The similarities are there.

Edit: I re-read what you wrote.

"Talking about the rest is akin to a bunch of 1.5yr old 4 pointers standing around arguing over which one has the biggest rack."

You stated talking about not following.

I love going to the games. We'll go to a couple, this year.

And I'm definitely not pissed.

But I respectfully disagree with the fact the other games and teams don't matter.

Another thing is these "powerhouses" tend to be cyclical. Look at the "U". That powerhouse lost to the 4 pointer Wisconsin in last years bowl game in their home state.

    Look at Michigan
Look at SC going up and down
    Look at Nebraska
    Look Florida State.

It's hard to stay at the top.

I never said the other teams didn't matter, either.

    *sigh*

Tell Buckeye to be very afraid of the U.

I follow Illinois. That about sums up how college football season will go for me.

Oh well Sept. 4th I will be in St. Louis watching Mizzou throw all over them again.

That is looking like it will be a great game.

Although a loss in that game would probably end a quest for a national championship, it would not affect the buckeyes shot at a Big Ten championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl.

Is the U going to be that much better this year? I don't see Brutus having that much of a problem.

Did Juice finally graduate? It seemed like he played at UI for 14 years or something like that.

Yes he finally graduated after starting 4 years. Last I heard he was trying to crack Bears camp.

They have a dynamic talent at QB.... If he can effectively pass and run against the Buckeyes, it could turn into a long day.

One thing (other than the amount of defensive talent the buckeyes have) is they face Terrelle Pryor everyday in practice, who I believe is a superior talent and athlete to Harris. I do not think he could show the Buckeyes defense anything that Terrelle hasn't.

On the flip side the U sees Harris every day in practice to prepair for Pryor. But, the U doesn't see a rushing attack like the buckeyes have.

I believe that the Buckeyes are to dynamic between Pryors athleticism and OSU's tailbacks for the U's defense to keep them in check.

I would pick OSU by 10.

I wouldn't bet on Miami to win, either. BUT.....

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did. I'll watch 4-5 games all year. That'll probably be one of 'em.

Kind of like the 2002 National Championship game between those two. No one gave the Buckeyes a chance but they ended up winning. Much the same could happen this year and everything end up going the way of the U.

yeah, and they pretty much always lose the 3rd game of the season...:biggun:

Gators are third in the rankings, I can live with that...for now
