That lawsuit sounds pretty lame. ESPN continues to go downhill. This happened to MTV in my childhood. They used to show music videos. Ahhh, the good old days.

Scott, you know I Iike to talk football with you, and you know your stuff...but you can't possibly continue to denounce this thing like it's nothing and everyone is against ya'll. tOSU has been caught and regardless of any outside agendas.

If the NCAA brings down the hammer, tosu will suffer...

Bama could also have the deepest running back corp in the nation, Trent Richardson, lacy, and a few other guys i could name, but outside bama nation they are unproven. I think that as long as your QB shows up (exact same worry with bama) you win the big 10 hands down. Nothing harder than replacing a proven big time quarterback, and regardless of what anyone thinks of prior, he won games.

LMFAO!!! I come home from work to see this gem of a story... See I am not crazy, it is so clear to see... ESPN hates tOSU!

It all comes down to this... ESPN hates the B1G because the B1G went independent and started their own conference TV network. ESPN is pissed because they didn't get their grubby hands into the TV deal money like they do with the other major conferences (SEC SEC SEC! for instance). That's why they bash the B1G at every opportunity and in turn bash tOSU (the conferences premier program at this time) even more.

tOSU compliance department self reported the Tat5 when they became aware of their transgressions. That was back in December before the Sugar Bowl.

Then the athletic department uncovered the emails between Tressel and Cicero (in a compliance email audit). Compliance then notified the NCAA with the findings that Tressel did not report what he learned in those emails with Cicero, the wrong doing by Pryor and Posey is what he knew of, he didn't know of the others (not that it matters, how many he knew of. Fact is he screwed himself and the University by not reporting and making the complaince department uncover and report the violations).

So yes, tOSU's compliance office self reported both times.

You guys are throwing all of these wild sanctions around and you don't even know the whole story.

I just cant wait until we are actually talking about football again... Like week two when the Irish crush Brady Hoke.

Would you guys take it easy on Penn State? Def don't want to see a beatdown there.

Bama has a chance of having 25+% of all the first round draftees next draft. Tons of talent on your D.

Tressel was a part of Ohio State at one time;). He had three chances to self report. If the yahoo article had not come out I still wonder if they would have come clean.

I guess you could say they technically self reported this, but as Germ pointed out, they only did this once they were caught. Not exactly blowing the whistle on themselves on this one.

Doesn't really matter I suppose. OSU screwed up big time on this one. They aren't the first program to do so. If the penalties are not severe, I really don't see this effecting them much besides the loss of a good coach. If they can replace him, I think they will be fine.

You guys are still off base. tOSU self reported the incident 30 some days before the story was leaked to Yahoo. Because of the Yahoo story from the leak, tOSU was forced to have that sorry display of a press conference before they were ready to go public where Gene Smith ran a train wreck of a conference and Gorden Gee looked like a fool.

This is what I am talking about... People scream for certain sanctions but yet, have no idea what exactly happened.

Again, all Yahoo did was report a leak from tOSU's compliance departments self report to the NCAA.

Hoke is lying to recruits about what is going down at OSU. I have read a few recruits recaps from their talks with Hoke...

Wait until August when these kids see how full of it Hoke is...

All that lying won't help him on the field anyhow.... He has a losing record as a coach in the little league conferences he came from. That losing will continue in the B1G.

Can't believe UM didn't hire a real coach. Fred Flintstone's season is gonna be Yabba Dabba Disastrous.

There is way too much discussion concerning one irrelevant program, and one very soon to be irrelevant program.

Can we get back to talking about teams that will actually do something this year?

The mighty Gators! I think they have split the 8 or 10 meetings.

Not sure if LSU fans feel the same way, but a lot of UF diehards seems to be scrambling for a new rival to detest. After Urban Meyer dominated the UGA, UT and FSU series, they didn't really seem like rivalries anymore.

A lot of Gators have shifted their immediate hate towards South Carolina, Alabama and LSU.

How much grass will Les eat this year? How many kids is he going to cut so he can make room for more recruits?

Does LSU play outside or are they wussies who play indoors?
