Their talent level is very deep. They have the deepest RB stable in the nation. They have a very good offensive line. There will be no drop off on the defensive side of the ball. Braxton Miller, Taylor Graham and Kenny Guiton are all more than capable of running the offense. This off the field stuff doesn't mess with the kids heads... Only thing is has done is motivate them to be better.
I dont think OSU will be the greatest this year like 8-4 or 7-5. Nebraska will prolly do the same. The hawks, badgers, and spartins IMO will be the ones to beat.
tOSU will not see a drop off this year, it's the year after that you will see it. They are going to get bowl bans and lost of schoiles. Word on the street is at least 3 bowl bans and 25-30 scholies. When an entitiy gets in trouble we see the true character, tOSU is not who I thought they were. They threw Tressel under the bus and it's players and are trying to resovled themselves of all wrong doing. When Michigan got in trouble in Basketball, Michigan took the blame, we did not act like a 5 year old caught doing something wrong and then blame their someone else, becasue they did it too. Tressel does not have to pay the 250,000 fine, and now is "retired" instead of resigned. Ohio has to pay him more money, LOL What a complete joke the adminstration is at Ohio, I have more respect for Tressel for trying to fall on the sword.
Where ever you are reading this stuff, they are delusional.... There will be no bowl ban and I seriously doubt that there will be any loss of scholarships... If there are it will be nothing like the numbers you suggest. Seriously, where ever you are getting this info, they need to lay off the sauce.
I watched the one hour special with Gruden and Pryor. I did LOL when Gruden asked what OSU was about, and Pryor's first word out of his mouth was "class". I don't believe OSU will get hit as hard as many think. They are one of the biggest money makers in college football. The NCAA knows it will be like shooting itself in the foot if they penalize them too harshly. My prediction: a slap on the wrist. Loss of a few scholarships over the next couple years and maybe a one year bowl ban...maybe.
Let see, how does common sense sound. USC had 1 player who played who was ineligible to play. tOSU had 5 USC did not try and cover it up, tOSU did cover it up and the HC lied. NCAA already tried to let tOSU of easy and got egg on their face, do you think they are going to do that again? I have no idea what you are reading, but most of the world outside of Ohio expects a bowl ban.
Germy Germ, I'm telling you, its all about the money. USC is no where close to the money making powerhouse OSU is. No comparison. It was easy to make an example out of USC without hurting themselves (NCAA).
Any other time I agree, but the NCAA stated they want to clean this BS up. Now is not the time to screw up. NCAA already tried to let them off easy, now their hand is forced.
Maybe so. You're right, the NCAA doesn't like getting embarrassed. We'll see how they react. When they didn't suspend the players for last year's bowl game, I thought they made it glaringly obvious they hold OSU to different standards.
ESPN has an agenda against tOSU.... They are the ones driving this hate train that other media outlets have followed against tOSU. They (espn) have many fooled at the severity of the buckeyes looming sanctions. It matters not what ESPN or some random Blogger posts about tOSU, it only matters what the ncaa thinks. TOSU self reported all of this to the ncaa and they have worked together all this time. The punishment must fit the crime, and your suggestions Gary, along with many sports bloggers is to extreme. There are so many differences in the case of USC and tOSU that I am not going to get into it posting from my phone. They are not similar enough to use as comparison let alone as a bench mark for possible sanctions to be levied against the buckeyes.
Correct tOSU is worst Self reported? Tressel lied 3 times. Smith has handled this like a 5 year old. Michigan and Mr. Ed Martin. Coach knew nothing, did not matter fired within the week. School knew nothing, did not matter they took care of business to right the ship. Michigan gave themselves a 2 year post season band, and lost of scholies for 2 years. NCAA is not done, next the will send a Notice of Violations about Pryor and selling autographs for cash.
