Moved out to NC from the West, not really used to these tiny tracts of public land out here.
Getting skunked so far, starting to wonder if you have to cough up money to an outfitter to see
any deer. Any North Carolinians want to chime in on this?

[Seeing lots of tracks in the sand out at
Neuse River Game Lands, no deer seem to be moving during shooting hours. ]

<off topic rant> I can't believe they unlocked the gate at Neuse River Gamelands so that yahoos can
go driving in and out of there all day like they are racing stock cars, that piece of land is small enough to
walk across in two and a half hours! Jiminy Christmas!</off topic rant>

Best bet would probably be find some private land to lease.

Butner-Falls of Neuse and Jordon has some good land. A few nice bucks. You can generally get away from folks there. If you happen to have a boat you can access some great land around both.
