    Good morning ladies and gents,

My name is Travis and I am from Eastern NC, home of the "Dog sized Deer" lol. I have been hunting in general since i was young and I have been an avid bow hunter the last 5 years or so. I am shooting a Mathews Z7 Extreme, 65lbs 26.5in draw but it gets the job done rather well I think. I have always been a respectful hunter and have tried to do things right, in this not so right world. I am sure we all have the same problems. I took my largest buck this past year with my bow, and although its not an Ohio or Illinois monster, it was deffinately a shooter in my book. I have been following this buck for 2 years, hunting him when i could, and keeping my mouth shut on his where abouts. I was sitting in a stand when i heard a friend i had taken with me that afternoon shoot his rifle in the large field he was hunting. I got a text from him that said "doe down". I then decided, with the light rain that was coming down, and the long drag across the bean field that was ahead of me, that i was not taking anything unless he was "Nice". I played a couple games on my phone, looked up, and there he was broad side 33yds, looking away from me. I eased the mathews off the bow holder on the side of the tree, went to full draw, and let the muzzy fly. He went about 25 yds, and i heard him crashing. I returned the text to my friend "big buck down". Sorry the intro was a little lengthy, but i cant wait to share more stories, and read more stories with all of you.

    -Travis

Thanks guys. Glad to be here. I have not ran across a "lease" thread yet, is there such an animal? Or what sites are good sites to find land to lease?

Thanks everyone. Glad to be here!

Lung Buster- Oriental has some awesome fishing. We caught Reds this past year over 50" with most of them 40"+ on any given day or night. The Striper and trout fishing is good this way also and the occasional Spanish will come in as clost to oriental. I got plenty of Fishing pics, but this ain the place for it :)

I fished with my brother down there this summer and we destroyed the redfish and speckled trout! I am used to fishing tidal waters up here in Jersey so it took me a bit to get used to a wind blown tide but once I figured it out it was on! I am heading down there next month to hunt turkeys with him! I can't wait! My brother just started knocking on doors and asking permission to hunt farms where he lives now he has two that he hunts regularly and he killed a bear this year on one of them.

We have several turkeys around here. Its nothing to see 10-40 in a field at any given time during the Fall but they are much harder to get on in the Spring for some reason. Im always down for a good turkey hunt, keep me in mind!
