Good grief. Take your scarlet and grey glasses off for a second would you?
    That is asking a lot....

I'd say a school who lost their coach due to violations, then gets a waiver to allow two staffs to coach and recruit is a bit shady wouldn't you? At least that is the alegation. So yeah that is the problem BB has is the sanctions are supposed to hurt OSU not help them with recruiting. No I do not believe it was shady. The NCAA will not allow more than 9 coaches on a staff at anytime. At no time did tOSU have more than 9 coaches at one time. This waiver is quite common practice during times of coaching changes. IL used it this year, Michigan used it when Rich Rod took over for Carr etc...

Listen, it isn't coming across this way publicly but from my sources BB just wanted to let UM know that some of the shady stuff that flies in the SEC is not OK here in the B10 as far as he is concerned. For better or for worse that was his point. Everyone else is just assuming BB is whining because of Dodson and that really is not the case. Having said that BB opened up this can and now he can deal with how it is coming across to people.
No matter what Frat boy Brett thinks, what is the truth is what really matters... He claimed Meyer and Staff were breaking NCAA rules with their recruiting tactics. This was unfounded and completely inaccurate, per Jim Delany and Wisco's own Barry A. Don't go to the press and spout off about how someone else is breaking rules using "illegal recruiting tactics" if it isn't true!

I read your posts about the Buckeyes committing NCAA violations over the last year about how it was not a big deal, and that it was over emphasized by the media. I laugh out loud at the double standard used here.
The rules that were broken by the players were not and still are not a big deal. This isn't a double standard... We are talking about a big vager trying to stir up crap because he doesn't like the way another person does things even though that persons tactics are 100% legit in the eyes of the NCAA.

    *edit*

I am not implying what Brett said is that big of a deal, it is just hilarious to hear his nonsense and see him squirm.

Wow, didn't know Carr and Zook were fired because of NCAA violations. What did they do?

We can agree to disagree but I'm curious where the "Frat boy" comes from. He seems like a big dope dumbass jock to me most of the time.

Fickell was not fired due to NCAA violations either, he was the head coach at the time... Not Coach Tressel.

Not only that, but the sanctions had yet to be determined by the NCAA for Ohio State.

    • Looks like we agree on him being a big dope dumbass :)

Fickell was only head coach BECAUSE Tressel was fired due to NCAA violations. It's not the same. Not even close.

No matter how many total coaches were working for OSU, the fact is you had two head coaches. One to run the team and one concentrate on recruiting. It's an advantage. One that should not be available to a team because they committed NCAA violations.

BTW, I always liked sweatervest. Did he make some mistakes? Sure. But I do think he got the short end of the stick in the whole ordeal. It’s somewhat the same as Paterno if I can make the comparison. He made some mistakes but did not need to take the blame for everything.

However, the OSU program did get off easy IMO.

I guess I have a problem with homers that can't look at a situation logically instead of emotionally. I can look at parts of the team I love and call them out for what I see. Too many people listen to their heart and ignore what their brain tells them.

Michigan will be fine, d-line will be an issue. Check Michigan's record against the SEC, MI is not like tOSU.

It seems your issue should be with the NCAA, not tOSU. The NCAA granted them the waiver to have two head coaches in place. I am not being a homer here, you are misdirecting your anger. Don't be mad at tOSU or Meyer if you do not feel that was fair.... Be mad at the NCAA.

If you read my posts about the buckeyes over the years, you would see many times I "call them out for what I see". I believe you are off base saying I am a homer who does not look at situations logically. A homer, for sure... A blind homer, no chance.

You just take issue with what I see as not a big deal, where you think it was. To get down to it....

I do not think a few kids selling their own stuff is a big deal. I sell my own stuff all the time, you probably do the same.... Jim Tressel not being honest about it was a big deal.

That was the first thing I did when I saw the schedule. Different time, different players, especially for us. I remember you guys owning the gators the last few times you played them. I work with a huge gator fan and he hates michigan.

Just curious what you guys are bringing to the table. Obvioulsly we are losing TR3, but we are also sending 5 off that D in the first 2 rounds of the draft. I think we will be fine, but opening with a huge game always scares me.

I think UM has a good chance at beating Alabama next year. It does not appear that Bamas O is going to be that great, if Denard can put a few points on the board you never know what may happen.

Why bama sucks and has no classhttp://mgoblog.com/The glory of signing with Alabama. Three-star DT Darius Philon announced he'd be going to Alabama on Signing Day. He did it like this: [IMG]If that seems unusual, it's because Philon had probably just been told that he wasn't actually going to Alabama. Alabama swung a decommit and pulled his offer; Philon ended up signing with Arkansas, a school he hadn't so much as visited. The actual video is… weird:

Scott- Any word out of the OSU camp on Diggs? He was a heavy Gator lean all season, but Urbs made quite the push for him lately and it has me a bit worried.

I am hearing he is going to choose between OSU and Maryland. I hear it was OSU and the gators before his visit to Maryland, he got lots of love from the student body at their basketball game.... The stadium was chanting his name. It was pretty loud. But than again depending on where you read, some say he favors aurburn. I don't buy that though. His decision is Friday evening at 10 pm est. Broadcast live by comcast Maryland.

Maryland is where he will be...funny thing is, he will get there for the first football game and realize there were more people at that basketball game than the Terps football games...

1990's Michigan Basketball, maybe as dirty as there ever was...All schools have skeletons

He knew 3 weeks prior and still decided to have the press conference. He suffered an injury, it was worse than he reported it being and they are still not sure if he had surgery. he said he was gonna wait, now he is saying he already had it and will be ready for spring.

I am not gonna sit here and defend every story anout BAMA out there (even though I have..lol), as we all know Saban recruits on the edge, as does Urban, Miles and several other guys. Germ, you always talk about class, but Miles is as dirty as they come (referring to recruiting), and he is a Michigan man that you guys wanted badly when it was thought rich Rod was coming to bama. Speaking of rich Rod, he is about as dirty as they come as well...but if he would have won, no doubt all the maize and Blue would have been at the head of the line cheering him on. Remember when Harbaugh started slinging mud, you guys stopped pursuing him pretty quickly, he had alot to say about his alma mater if I remember correctly. I just like Alabama sports, and I am happy they win more than they loose, as not to long ago louisanna monroe came into Bryant Deny and left winners...that was a bad time my friends.

He committed last night. I would have hated it if Urban would have stole him last minute, but would have been happy for the kid to play at tOSU for 4 years in the national spot light and then go onto the NFL.

Now he'll play at noon every Saturday in front of 35K, but get to wear the cool unis!

How is rich rod dirty? What proof do you have? The 30 minutes of extra practice? Miles yes, and when you refer to fab five you are talking about players, not the college. I have no love for the fab five, by the way MI currently has a basketball player on scholarship who never has played, came to Michigan hurt, MI HONORED the scholarship.
