Big day coming up on the recruiting front... What prospects are you pulling for to make the commitiment to "your" team on Wednesday? The Bucks have a few big oneson the board yet ... Curtis Grant, Audrey Walker, Darious Jennings and JaJuan Story. Also, Cardale Jones but he may have to go JUCO for a year. Would love to see him as a Buckeye. I predict the commitment of Curtis Grant and Audrey Walker, with the slight possibility of Darious Jennings. I say Story stays with the Gators, but would love to have him.
LSU is still in the running for Clowney (0.0000001%), Tim Jernigan (50%), and Jerimiah Rasco (99%) Either way, LSU still finished top 5 (Rivals), so I'm happy with that
Michigans Standards 1. Can you Breathe? 2. Can you some what tackle 3. Did Rich Rod Recruit you 4. Are you taller then 5' 8'' 5. Do you weigh more then 175 lbs? All kidding aside Hoke has done a fantasic job of getting a decent class. We have 17 commits, up from 9 just two weeks ago. We are focused on 6 kids, I think 4 are blue for sure.
He has been on fire picking up commits.... See, run the trash out of town (and bring in an Ohio coach) and people actually want to go blue again.
Normally I would have a smart ass remark, but as I relfect on the RRod era it was a train wreck. I still think the DC was the big pickup Here are the final 6 Cooper - 4* and #16 DT Barnett - 4* #14 TE Clark - 3* LB Fisher - 4* LB Rawls - 3* #77 RB Willingham - 3* #69 LB
Like I have been saying since last season, FSU is starting to make a return to the top. This years recruiting class is dynamite.
Bama looks as if they have locked up the #1 linebacker and #1 safety along with the number 7 class in the nation. We are also waiting on another #1 to decide between Georgia and Bama...Georgia signed his buddy (a 3 star) to a full ride a week ago. There is so much coverage now that depending on what you follow scout, prep sport etc you could be anywhere in the top 10. One thing is for sure, Florida State is raking em back in again, and tOSU is doing the same. If it was not midnight and I just finished putting together a 10000 piece dresser for the wife and our anyday now new born I would post some names and stats...the way the kids are put on a pedestal anything could change Wednesday...they love the drama as much as the big boys.
Hey Michael do you think the Saban to Titans rumors will cost Bama some of those last minute recruits?
We got Rawls, while only a 3 star he had some grade issues which lowered his stock. He is from the same school as Ingram and broke all of his records.
yeah we lost all our recruits when we had the coaching change. We had 9 recruits two weeks ago and sitting around 60. I will take a top 25 class this year
The Buckeyes swoop into SEC country and steal a #1 ranked positioned recruit right under the noses of Georgia, Florida, Alabama etc... LINK #1 ranked long snapper...
Up here they actually give a scholarship to long snappers and beleive it or not award 3-5 scholarships a year to walkons. You know instead of oversign and kick kids out of the program they actually reward them.
I am not ignorant to the situation of oversiging. If you do not think kids are kicked from the programs scholarships, you are the one ignorant to the practice. That is exactly what happens. LSU for example right now is plus like 12 (already figuring for all departed seniors and early draft enrollees), even before tomorrow. What is LSU going to do to to keep all of those kids in the program, honoring the scholarships they were offered?
I'm not saying it never happens, but most of the time, kids are given a medical scholarship. They are still allowed to attend school for free. Rarely does a school completely cut their scholarship. 2-3 will be greyshirted, and I can think of about 7-8 kids that are planning to transfer due to lack of playing time, which happens in every school across the country every year. Please don't act like this only happens in the SEC. Maybe it happens more often, mostly because of how competitive incoming freshman can be. If a kid sees that he is not going to get playing time for the next 3 years because he gets beat by a freshman, do you blame them for transferring? I don't see a problem with this.
I see nothing wrong with transfers, in fact would encourage kids to do so to find playing time. The top 6 oversignees are from the sec... It is the same every year.
The SEC usually dominates the top 10 in recruiting. Why wouldn't a program want to bring in the most talented players?
