Based on spending a 100 million dollars on a microscope so they could look at Pluto. Sending billion dollar rockets and satellites into space only to completely lose them. Just a few of many, many examples of the wasting money. They are completely inefficient when it comes to actually helping society compared to the money they spend. Not debating they've done some innovating things (who couldn't with Billions of dollars worth of Government funds), but then to try to act like everything they do is beneficial to society and not a complete waste of money is pretty ignorant in itself. We're not talking on a million dollar scale either, we're talking 100s of billions and they seem to have no limitations on spending money while our economy goes to **** daily. Yeah I have bit of a issue with that.
Knowledge about our universe is priceless IMO I wish we would give NASA more money. We need to keep learning, innovating, and striving to go further. When we become content with what we "know", we die as a society.
I would agree with that as long as their mission is clearly that. I don't want to be funneling billions into muslim outreach through NASA.
That and falsifying climate records to push a BS agenda... I always suspected BO was an alien...I just thought he was the foreign kind, not extra terrestrial.
I don't like the idea though that they are still spending hand over fist and a lot of it is being paid to Russia for use of their craft. If we are going to rely on space age tech and continue to have to deal with orbital issues then we should have our own domestic craft and technology. I don't like the thought that we are no longer leading the technological parade while other countries are surging in advances. I don't like that we are at other countries mercy that have a core hatred for us.
I believe the satellite communications system the US has is worth well over what has been invested in the space program.
On the other hand I am a proud American that travels to other countries, I have won many an argument with Canadians who boast that Canada is so much better than the USA, I take them outside and point to the moon and ask who's flag is up there?
Investments in science and technology is money well spent. Much better than the money we just throw away on social service programs that add absolutely nothing to the betterment of our country and society. Don't kill me here for using Wiki as a source, but I'm sure they have the numbers remotely correct. Basically we are talking about one half of one percent of the overall national budget here.
