I have a 25" draw length and a 50 lb draw weight. I'm likin the Rage 40KE and have heard good reviews on it. I think the little bigger cutting diameter on the Rage 40KE will work awesome for spring turkey hunting. Do you think I will get enough penetration with the expandable to make a full pass through assuming I make a good shot. Has anyone had experience with the Rage that has similar setup to mine. Which broadhead would be most effective?
Yeah I saw those. I heard it was a 1 3/4" cut. I don't know whether the 1 1/2 inch cut from the rage would be better since I will get better penetration with the lower cut. What do you think? Do you know when they will release the killzone low ke?
NAP has a head called the "Gobbler Getter" designed for turkey hunting. It is designed NOT to pass through and works great. Don't know about your set up but the Killzone will definitely open up with your set up. Check it out here: http://www.bowhunting.com/videos/season-3--2012/episode-03-gettin-gobblers_1557
I too am wondering something similar. i shoot 28 DL and 60 lbs, and got a pack of spitfire maxxs for christmas and im just alittle unsure about the penetration ill be getting when white tail hunting
You will be fine. I shoot that set up and have had no trouble killing elk, moose, deer and hogs. Mechanicals are best for turkey in my opinion. The spitfire max is a very good mechanical head.
I used Rage 40ke with 26" and 48lbs and it did pretty good on my buck and really good on my coyote. I wouldn't suggest it for you yet but I used Rage chisel tip with 26" and 55lbs and it blew right through my doe!
So you liked the rage 40KE? You recommend it? When you used the rage 40KE, had you already tried other broadheads and liked the 40KE the best? I'm just deciding if i should go with the KE or just a fixed blade. Right now i really am liking the Rage 40KE as far as what people have said.
