I am thinking of trying these out...those who use them share your experience with accuracy and effectiveness. Should I get the Trophy Tip or the cut on contact ones?

I shot the wasp jak-hammer and they're similar. If I had a choice between the two I might try the spitfire maxx. But I finally had a successful bow kill with the jak-hammer so I'll stick with them until something bad happens. I would go with the trophy tip over the cut on contact tip.

I used Jak-hammers for many seasons...great broad head...I just prefer to get rid of the o rings. I have used grim reapers as well and they are also great but the Spitfire looks better...

The o ring is the reason I would take the spitfire over the jak-hammer. The blades are a little thicker on the jak-hammer and I think that's the only advantage it has over the spitfire.

I've shot 4 or 5 animals with the Spitfire Maxx and never had an issue. The vast majority have been complete pass thru shots - the only exceptions being due to shot placement and not the broadhead itself.

I believe the SF Maxx only comes in a cut on contact version.

I believe Justin is correct on the COC. I like the Spitfire Maxx, it's a proven head I've killed a lot of deer with, no issues.

They must have started making them in Trophy Tip as I see them for sale at a lot of retailers ****s, Cabelas, midway USA. They say Spitfire Maxx on them. ****s sells a 4 pack for $39.99 and Midway USA has the 3 packs on sale for $29 for either the COC or Trophy Tips. I lean towards the trophy tips as the COC blades may fold over if you hit rock or something in a pass through.

I swear by the Spitfire Maxx. Have been using them for years. the only deer I did not recover with them was purely my fault.
    I love them.
I have been using the COC tip up until recently, but it seems they are making the trophy tip now, so those are in my bag next to go in my quiver.
heavy blood trails. great penetration. nasty heads
