    UPDATE" 8/11/08 18:02
I just got back from the new shop and yes indeed my bow is a mess. I have a tad cam lean and the centershot is not even close.
He stated they start with getting everything balanced with the level and go from there. I will be all set tomorrow evening according
to them. He took about a hour with me and explained everything he does when tuning her up. He also was kind of showing
me some Mathews bow but didnt push to bad, lol
But they have never experience the use of this type of rest so the one guys Said I want to work on his bow
because I am curious about the rest. STAY TUNED and ty all much greatly.

Tony, it sounds like they very much start their tuning the same way I do mine in a tuning thread I wrote that's pinned to the top of the tech forum on another site. ;) It may give you some additional insights into what steps they're taking as you learn.

Great read Greg and yes pretty much just like what you do.
I get my bow back today I did call them last night and they stated all set.
Said they ran it through the chrono and I am getting 288 FPS so thats cool for a 99 bow. The K.E. is just under 64 also.
The 2 shop guys (Older) said they did not like this rest at all. First time they have seen it
though. Also he said I just barely get vane clearence and said I should really upgrade and
put her to rest. Maybe next year I might just do that.

Tony - did they happen to say how they knew it was barely getting vane clearance? Just an educated guess, or are they actually seeing something with it?

First the center shot was way off, the rest way to low, they had to put some hoyt shims on the outside to push
the rest out so they could move it forward more. They now have the cock vane pointing outside. Their was a tiny
bit of cam lean also. I am picking it up today and will take a look. Back in 2000 with the long overdraw on these bows it made it difficult he said.
Also blazers from hysells look like crap almost looks like they cut 4" into 2".
Is that how they do that?

We set the list of words here. :D

Fraley - I sent those photos to the engineer at NAP who designed the rest and he said what I thought he would - the rest is installed improperly. It needs to be moved back so it is not hitting the riser when it falls away. That's what is causing your clearance issues.

    Good stuff, Justin.

That's why I love this bunch of guys. We're all starting to get knowledgeable enough or have developed enough connections within the industry that if you can't find out what you're wanting to know here, you probably don't need to know it. :)

:hail: so I can just move it back a smudge without messing center? I also watched that video last night JZ and
I have to move the rotation back just a tad.
Yes Greg I am in debt to some on here forever and you and JZ are among them.

    Thanks much,
    Tony

Tony - sorry to hear it didn't work out. Unfortunately on some of those olders bows the new stuff doesn't work the way it was designed. Hold onto that rest and when you pick up a new bow next year, you should be able to use it.
