Did anyone else use these last fall? Im glad I did, I found my new "go to" deer head. These things are sticky sharp, real tough, and they penetrate REAL well.. Killed 2 with them.

I went with trophy tip killzones on a whim because I couldn't use the ones I had set my mind on....GREAT broadhead and will most likely go with them again if I don't go back to a fixed.......they left a heck of a hole and a super easy tracking job....did their job to a T

I didn't use them but a friend of mine got two nice size doe with them and I gotta say I was very impressed with the blood trail and the size of the cut. One was a pass thru the other didn't pass thru but it only went 15 yards and fell over. I may have to give them a try next year

Great broadhead! I used the COC tipped D6 version and had great results. Three deer died in sight from my tree. It's time to buy another pack because I'm thinking a longbeard is gonna catch a killzone up in his business this spring.

I used them after my son asked me to try them. Killed an antelope on Bowhunt or Die, a buck in Kansas and a doe in Oklahoma. All died in less than 30 yards. The heads were resharpened and are still in use. Just so you know, I'm a Muzzy guy.... but I love the Killzones! :D

I found them for $25 a pack after the season @ Scheels & bought two packs. I'm really pumped to try them this fall.

I used them this past season to take my first deer with a bow. Pass through at 15 yards on a doe. She dropped about 40 yards from stand. I was very pleased and will be using them again this season.

yeah i know i watch a lot of the hunts on youtube..

Well I dont know if anyone here is a member on archerytalk but I push these heads pretty strongly over there. I had a good season with them. They are sharp, tough, perform flawlessly, and they penetrate well. Will be using them again.

I tried them last year. Did not get a chance to use them, but...One thing I am concerned about. Not trying to steal from Jake, but I am wondering about using these bh's with a 52-55 lb. setup and draw length at 27". I have heard that I might not get a good pass-through. Can anyone give any information on this topic? Was considering trying a fixed blade this next season. I do like the pictures I have seen. Huge entry and exit wound. I like the idea of not having to do much tracking.

I would suggest you calculate the kinetic energy your producing which can be done by figuring your total arrow weight (adding your GPI on arrow x total arrow inches) including broadhead and your arrow speed (Feet Per Second). I have not seen an official listing of the minimum KE to shoot various mechanicals but with your draw length and bow weight described above you would want to consider the Killzone Low KE if you want to go mechanical. The cutting diameter is a 1/4" shorter than the regular Killzone however it still is 1 3/4" whereas the NAP Thunderhead 100 grain is 1 3/16". You would still be adding just over a half inch cutting diameter vs. the fixed.

With all that said, IMO, most fixed blades do get better penetration than mechanicals. This makes sense since energy is being transferred within the broadhead to open mechanicals on impact. Fixed broadheads do not require the same energy transfer so you maximize your KE to help continue the arrow through the deer.

If you properly place your arrow, fixed, mechanical, they both do the job. I personally used Killzones this past year and was very impressed so you will those leading my arrows this season as well!

Check out Troy's buck on Episode 18 of BHOD, he shot last year with the killzone. These broadheads do some serious work. Before this season I was a fixed only guy. I even started the season with NAP thunderhead Razors (a very good BH as well). After filming Troy take down his doe in early season (Episode 15 of BHOD) and first hand witnessing the deer drop within sight and the massive blood trail, I had to give them a try. I have seen 3 coyotes and 2 deer shot with these broadheads and I have been nothing but impressed with the entry wounds and blood trails.
By the way one of those coyote kills can be found on episode 23. Needless to say I am a big fan of these BH's.
