Thinking I wanna give a try and make the switch to the Killzone Maxx broadheads. Only thing is, I keep thinking with such a large cutting diameter compared to the normal 2" Killzone will it effect penetration, pass throughs, flight, etc. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated! These things look SICK to me and I'm anxious to see what others think cause I'm very close to picking up two packages and slinging these things this season.

You have the right idea with possible penetration issues because of the large cutting diameter. A mechanical head always has a chance to fail. Several of the guys on the BHOD show shoot Killzones and they seem to like them. I see alot of arrows sticking way out of deer, but they always appear to find blood trails and dead deer. If you're shooting a high KE set up, you should be fine, but if your KE isn't very high and you want penetration, I would go with a fixed blade.

You think a helim at 65lbs throwing Gold Tip XT Hunters is good enough?

I'll be using a PSE stinger @70# also using Gold Tip XT Hunters, and I've already decided to take my first shots with them. the killzone maxx says in the description that it recommends at least 60#. I'm lookin forward to giving them a shot, but if they dont work out, I'll have my original killzones as backups.

Give the KillZone a shot, you'll like them. Your Heli-m is pushing that Gold Tip plenty fast for a penetrating shot. Regardless of the broadhead you're using shot placement is paramount.

I have always been a guy that shoots traditional broad-heads until Sunday. I had a mature doe at 25 yards perfectly broadside. She was looking back where she came from, which was a picked corn field. I drew back and shot her while she was still looking back. I smoked her, or i thought i did. I got down a half hour later to look at my arrow and to my surprise it was covered in meat like i hit her in the liver. i took up the blood trail about 15 minutes later and there wasn't very good blood. Eventually i found her the next morning eaten by coyotes. The next day i immediately switched broad-heads to NAP Killzone maxx from NAP thunderheads. I hope these work as i shoot 64# with a 28.5 draw length. What do you guys think?
