Broadhead video (Spitfire vs Killzone vs G5) I just felt like seeing what happens so I made a video between the Killzone, Spitfire and a Montec G5. I only loaded the video of the Killzone because the others were less than impressive. The Spitfire didn't even open. I will say the splatter when the G5 hit was pretty impressive, but not as impressive as the Killzone. This is my first year using a mechanical. And for the record I'm not what you would call great at editing video lol. NAP Killzone - YouTube All three in one video broadhead test - YouTube I can't figure out how to embed it on this site so there is a link...
I believe thats how the spitfire bh's are designed....entry hole is small and looks like it doesn't open, but the head actually opens once it gets a certain amount of the way into the animal is fully expanded on exit...I could be wrong though, but pretty sure someone has told me that somewhere along the way.
The spitfire did not open on the entry but it did open on the exit. The thing that surprised me was watching the impact in slow motion. The G5 I shot had a big splatter when it hit but the cavitation wasn't that impressive. And the water didn't drain that great. The spitfire was the least impressive. The Killzone though just destroyed it. I'm going to try again today and time how long it takes for the jug to empty.
I liked on the spitfire and montec how you had the container away from the target. On the killzone it is a little harder to see the carnage because the target blocks the view. But other then that good work.
It wasn't done intentional. I'd imagine if it wasn't against the target it would have emptied even faster.
Wouldn't you have to hit the jug in the exact same spot with each broadhead to compare how long they take to empty? Otherwise, you wouldn't get a proper comparison of, since the amounts of liquid that are draining would be different.
I'm aware that an animal and a jug bleed differently. I like the jug test because you at least determine which one is making a bigger hole and draining at what rate. As for the height yeah I have a dot I paint on the jug. I'm only shooting at 20 yards so a 1" dot isn't too hard to hit. I know this isn't an exact science, it is more done for entertainment purposes and I'm learning to play with windows movie maker.
I have seen where they draw a line in the middle of the jug, then shoot below the line and measure the amount of time it takes for the liquid to hit that line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for taking the time and effort to set this up. I just switched to Killzones for this season and I'm anxious to see how they perform. Blessings.........Pastorjim
