I used the Hellrazors last year and shot 4 deer with them. None of those deer made it past 100 yards before expiring, and 3 of the 4 fell within sight. Great penetration and they're without question the toughest, most durable head I've ever shot.

I can't really speak for the Montec though - never actually shot them. I believe the biggest difference between the two is the photo-blade bonding and 100% steel construction fo the Hellrazor, versus the "monoflow" process of the Montec, which is basically an injection molding process using metal instead of plastic.

IMO you can't go wrong with either as they're both more than capable of putting down just about anything you shoot with them. Just make sure you hit them in the right spot and you're doing good. :tu:

I used the montecs one year and liked them, but switched to a mechanical after that because I like the flight and the bigger cutting area. I didn't have this problem, but I have heard from others, that the Montec sometimes whistles or makes a little noise in flight. That may be from less than perfect arrow tuning. I use Rocket Steelheads now, but I don't think you can go wrong with either. Like Justin said, if you tune it good and hit in the right spot, any broadhead should do the job.

There's no comparison between the two hell razors hands down better steel stay sharper easier to sharpen. An even better head is the vpa terminaters by vantage point archery but the hell razors 4 heads for the price of three of the others are hard to beat

The "whistling" in flight is the #1 reason I switched to the NAP HellRazors. As JZ stated, they are tough as nails and fly great....as long as your bow is tuned. I shot 3 deer with the same BH last year until the pass thru on the 3rd one decided to hit a large rock bending the tip of the BH. Just make sure you practice with whatever BH you decide to go with this coming season!

I've shot both and prefer the Hellrazor for the reasons stated above.

I can't argue because I haven't shot a Hellrazor, but I can swear by the Montec as it's the easiest broadhead to sharpen and once sharp you can't beat them for durability. Have only had one not make a pass through and that was a 1/4ering to me shoulder shot that the arrow broke through the shoulder bone and pierced the lung and he made it 60 yards. Flight is true as long as you tune them as goes with any fixed broadhead. I have used 6 over the last 7 years and still have 5 in my quiver. 11 of my last deer & moose & antelope have been complete pass through's.
