I've read a lot about people who are going to shoot and test this rest, but I can't find any results. It's reasonably priced, is it worth the money or what?
I think I am going to have to check it out. Peak let me know when you have it all set up so I can check it out.
Wow....I read all that and thought for sure that the peak would have come through. Guess I'll have to wait, not like I am in the market for a rest right now, but I am still curious.
I promise between today and tomorrow I will get this done. I wanted to put this rest on my new bow (Limbsaver DZ32) but I also need a new site among other things but don't have the money right now. So I will just take the rest off the hoyt and put on the freedom and see how it goes. T
Nothing for nothing, but I am a little turned off by this rest because of those little pinchers. They still seem to pull on the arrow a little bit. Also, they look very fragile and soft; it seems like they could easily harden and fracture. It seems inevitable that those little pinchers will break over a period of say 1 year or about 1000 shots. Just my oppinion, but i'm going with the QAD. (Still curious on the Peak's results.)
I'd figure them (the pinchers) to be just about like anything else, need to be constantly monitored and checked over. It's part of being an archer. In fact it's one of my favorite parts. (the tinkering):d
I am heading out the door in about 5 minutes and will be finally shooting this rest. I will be back this afternoon as I am also setting up some trees for this coming falls hunt.
So How'd the rest work? Since I'm not hearing anything from all the guys that were going to post the results of their test, I can only guess that the rest isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Forget it. Lots of talk but nobody is posting their results. I've mounted a Hostage Pro rest and it's the greatest I've ever used. Quiet and my groups have greatly improved. No moving parts and I have full containment.
Alright I like this rest a lot and didn't have the issue's that I had with the older model. I let a little creep in to see if the rest would drop while at full draw and it did not on the freedom rest. Center shot is a must if you are off just a tad you will notice the wear either on the left or right part of the rest right away. If you notice this then it is a good thing because you will know which way a adjustment is needed. Also make sure just like in the video on NAP's site that you have it back far enough so when you are at full draw the arrow is resting more towards the top front of the rest. As for the grouping this is as good as advertised as I did not notice any timing issues to affect arrow flight. This coming fall I will be using this rest on my new Limbsaver bow for hunting. T Any ? feel free to PM me.
My buddies wife at the archery shop had some issues of it not falling all the time and tore up some fletchings. They called the factory and they were sending out some sort of update or improvement for it. Not exactly sure what that was. She's still shooting with it and I haven't heard any complaints about it so it must have been resolved.
Did it seem noisy? A friend is shooting one and there's a slight clicking sound as the arrow passes over it and the head rolls forward.
