What's up guys! Currently I'm using the original apache. Thinking about changing rest. Been lookin at the nap apache carbon and the qad hdx. One reason I've thought about getting the qad is so that my arrow does clank around at all like sometimes it does with the apache. Also the original apache is a little bulky. So my real question is would you go with the apache carbon or qad hdx?
I had 3 QADs, 2 Ripcords and now use 2 Carbon Apaches. It is smaller and lighter by far than the original. My arrows do not clank around one bit. I do use the Ripcord arrow cradle. After 35+ years of bowhunting I found the perfect drop away for me. Not 25 plastic parts, not noisy going up or down, it's compact and quiet. So to answer your real question......after my experiences with QADs I will never use another. The stay up on let down feature means nothing to me. I can draw slow and easy enough not to spook a deer and I can let down the same way.
Yes, by the cradle I mean the rubber U shaped holder you stick to the horizontal part of the riser. I like the Ripcord's better than the NAP one.
i know you didn't ask about this rest but the vapor trail limb driver or limb driver pro are both great rest and worth taking a look at.
I have the nap apache carbon, Without pulling out my bow im pretty sure the inside is lined with neoprenish material, also that carbon fiber really dulls any kind of sound you would get as opposed to a metal. Apache Carbon is also light, I think QAD would be comparable.
I love my QAD's. Just make sure you get the HDX though. I like the Apache's as well, Just like the HDX better.
