I've narrowed it down to these two. Thoughts and opinions? Right now I'm kinda half way but would like to know how the BHOD staff likes the Apache Carbon.

I have the carbon and love it. Don't have any experience with any QAD products so I'm biased. NAP makes quality products so you can't really go wrong with them.

I was dead set on getting the apache when I bought my drop away. I got to Cabelas and they had the QAD Hunter and Apache next to each other and the bow tech convinced me to get the QAD. Three months later I was still getting fletching contact and was getting frustrated. I finally had someone who knew what they were doing help me get it set up and it works great now. The hunter is one of the cheaper models and apparently doesn't have the bounce up technology but I can't tell the difference. If I bought another one I would probably go with the apache just because it looks cooler and everyone uses one :p. The only think not great about my QAD is the arrow containment. If the rest is not in the up position it won't hold your arrow. Other than that I think they are pretty similar.

Well, I have the QAD Ultra Rest HDX and it works great! Thats the problem with the Hunter Models are that they can't keep up with bows and have fletching contact, yes even a 45lbs bow. What the fletching contact looks like are black lines that show up on your vanes from where they contact the prongs. That is why most people I know who buy QAD goes with the LD or the HDX. Spend the extra dough and you will be happy with it. I have wasted my money on an Apache Carbon, it does not have full arrow containment and always fell out from the top for me and made me angry a few times. I do a lot of Spot and Stalk as well as Tree Stand Hunting. I hope this helps you.

I am interested in this as well. I am crazy and shoot with a prong rest, I know one day I will pay for that though.

QAD HDX all the way. No comparison. The arrow will always be contained because you should push up the launcher upon nocking an arrow. Don't draw it back straightforward the down position QAD says this is bad for the rest

QAD no worries of your arrow coming out no matter what. Pull back let down as many times as you want and still no worries. I have shot QAD ultra rest for I wanna say 4 years now and not one complaint.

I agree 1000%! I am trying to figure out WHY someone would you EVER draw it back with the launcher down? Anyways..The QAD Ultra HDX is an awesome rest. I have them on both of my bows. You won't be disappointed if you buy the QAD.
