Well this morning as I was doing my daily morning shoot it occurred to me that I had yet to pull the 3inch extension off my NAP Apache stab. At first thought I really didn't think it would make much difference. I was thinking its just 3 ounces and the only thing I though may change was the vibration since it brought the rubber dampening closer to the riser. So after I wrestled with the stab for 10 minutes getting the extension off (I think the guy at the shop may have used loc tite) I screwed the 5" in and went to work. My first impression when I picked up the bow was WOW this thing feels like nothing now. Didn't know 3 ounces was that big of a deal but you learn something new everyday. I drew and my bow was so much more balanced and steady with 5" stab vs. the 8". I couldn't believe what I was feeling. The shot came and things just got better. The bow just set dead still I thought it stayed still before but this was just new level of still. What little vibration there had been was completely gone, and the bow was so much quieter than before. Subsequent shots just proved my first impressions. Also, my groups shrank instantly. Could not believe a stab change like that could make such a big difference. I guess the moral here is to always investigate all the options available to you. I couldn't believe the difference. I'm sure this is unique to every shooter/bow. What have your guys thought been on small changes like this.
