I finally picked up a trio of the new NAP 2-blade broad head. And i am pretty impressed. I mean trying to re-invent the broad head is like trying to re-invent the wheel. but having a hybrid broad head is something else. My worst fear was the blades having to have a lot to push the tip down to expand. But that wasn't the case. You can hold up a piece of paper and it will expand until you put enough pressure to puncture though. The blades are pretty sturdy on it woo they are not like the rage where they seem a little loose. I think they could take a shoulder shot no problem. Now I have not shot at plywood or anything similar to bone. The grouping i got with them was good about a 3-4 inch group at about 20-25 yards. I was shooting into The Original block black and white target. I put a piece of paper up in front of the block to see the cutting capability and 2 inches might not seem much but it looks pretty big on paper. Now I know deer hide/skin is thicker and tougher than paper. I might make a short video review on them like Justin did.

I have looked at these and am seriously considering them for next season.

My question is this, if you can make the blades expand by simply pushing the tip against a piece of paper then what is keeping the blades from expanding from the force of being shot? And if the blades are expanding during flight then what is the point of a mechanical or hybrid?

RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! samfischer you are gettin 3-4 inch groups with this bloodrunner. i am far from impressed espectially at 20 to 25 yards. and dont take it as if im sayin you shooting is off. i just dont get this broad head. when the two blade blood runner is closed it still has as much surface as a magnus stinger twoblade. and we all know un less you have those babys just right the are almost like boomarrangs. you take your blood runners and shoot a three arrow group at thirty yards then take your other three arrows and shoot the same group with rage two blades on them and im pretty sure your broadhead decision will be made by the time you make it up to your target

stuntriders- NAP has just figured out what the correct tension is. they don't expand all the way from pushing on paper they just start too. then close back up when the tip breaks through.

cyokley- i looked at the rage 2 blade also but the whole slip cam idea scares me. I am sure they work awesome for you and yeah they should fly like field tips the way they are shaped. i just don't think they will expand the way the blood-runners do. and the blades on them look really thin and flimsy.

long beard- i have not shot any game yet with them just bought them and tested how they fly when shot. because some people have said they shoot great some say they are all over the place. maybe its the shooter maybe its the equipment. i am not sure.
and here is a link for the broadheads- http://cutsnomatterwhat.com/index2.htm the hog video is the only one where the 2 blades are used but the other ones are the 3 blade version and they work just as fine and they have a smaller cutting diameter. like one 2nd from the right video that deer bleeds like a spear hit it or something other worldly i cant wait to use them this year month and counting!!!!!!!!

i have killed four deer with the rage two blade and have never had a opening problem. im talkin wholes you can stick you hand in. once had a quartering away shot on an buck and when he went down his intestines were falling out of him. on another occasion i spine shot a doe and the broad head blew straight through the spine busting the spine into and i still use that broad head. every one has there own oppinions on broad heads and out of the millions of bow hunters there will be bad reviews on every broad head. but i will be the first to say that the rage broad heads are in my mind un matched in all around quality.

Whoa big buddy! do you feel better now?

I really like the design of the bloodrunner. If my state allowed it, and I felt the need too use mechs, this would be the head I would choose.

i shot a squirrel with the G5 small game head and that thing made a combination of thump/schwack like when you pat a dogs rib cage or pat a monster buck rib cage but i broke ribs so that's probably the schwack sound . he went 10 feet to a tree went up about 8 feet and fell deader then dead. Those are good heads for squirrel haven't tried ground hogs (don't have any where i hunt/ haven't seen any if they are there) and haven't tried it on rabbits either but should be fine.

i havnt killed anything yet with my 2 blade bloodrunners, but just got it tuned in with my bow...it doesnt whisle in the air like others have stated, and im getting nice groups with my practice heads that you have to by seperately at about 40 yards.

and another thing is they will cut no matter what. they can only cut more if anything. that's another plus with the hybrid. unlike the rage if they don't deploy you just shot and animal with a field point pretty much. with blood runner its either 1 1/8 or larger cuts.

I was considering the Bloodrunners until I went to Gander Mtn to get a better look at them. I took one out of the package and tried to "deploy" the blades and could not get them to deploy. I actually had to take the head and push it against the shelf to get it to deploy. It had rusted somehow in the package and was very hard to get it to expand. The whole point of me doing this was to see how much it took to expand it (worried about energy loss). It was probably a fluke but it was enough to turn me against them.

it was a fluke, i barley have to push my finger against the point and it slides down.

are the blood runners considered to have springs in them which would make them illegal in my state

the rage will deploy there is no way for them not to. if some one complains about a rage not opening its because they have used the same one over and over and it has dried blood in the slide which still isnt enough to keep them from opening
