    I read a cool blog by Dan Schafer couple weeks back. He was speaking about naming your bucks. Just wondering what you'all name your bucks? Some of the names that come to mind that i have used are;
    "Share Buck" - "Snow White" - "The drop 8" - "The Mystery" - "Teardrop" - "S.O.S" - "Twiggy" - "Split G-2" - "Timbuck"
Snow white; cause his rack was so white, Twiggy; cause when i filmed him he had a big bunch of twig caught in his rack, Timbuck; cause my son Tim found his shed rack, what a pleasure it is to get to know deer well enough to name them. Dont'cha love it !! Thanks for some good reading Dan. If you havnt read it, check the blogs.

I've named bucks "Big Sexay"-"Stubby"-"Touchy"-"Outsider"-"Fatty"-"Love machine"
Big Sexay was because he had really tall tines and scored in the 160s-170s.
Stubby was because he was super massive but his points were really short.130s
Touchy was a reallyy massive 10 pointer thats main beams touched.150s
Outsider was a 140s buck that was always in the background of pics, never up close.
Fatty was a small buck, but was so fat he had fat rolls.
Love machine was named, because he mounted a doe 45 yards away from me during bow season.

I think we are all sick and demented to have to name deer. And I love it!!!

We have MANY named bucks.. It is nice to have everyone on the lease look at photos of certian deer, recognize them, and see them on different stands.. You can kinda track movement of each deer when someone comes into camp and says" I saw Player on the roadbed"........... We have:

Player: Cause he would always sneak up behind you, let you see him, and leave.
Tyson: Cause he is always fighting other deer
Ole No. 7: Cause he is a huge OLD 7 point
    Mufasa: MONSTER young buck
Crowl: Wife named this big 8 point.. After a movie
High Tower: His 10 point rack goes straight up in the air, not outward at all
Chernoble: He has a straight beam on the left that is 4 feet long straight up (mutation)
Flat Top: He has an 8 point frame, but tines broke above the main beam, both sides

And I am sure they will be more this year...

In Michigan, I name all the 1.5 year olds "Good Luck". I quietly wish them this when they walk by.

We had 64 pictures on the camera.. None of the pictures showed a log, twig, stump, vine, etc.... in the photos until he showed up.. The next photo of him walking off again there is nothing on the ground.. It had to be on his head.. Unless a large stick fell and stuck in his head and he is walking around with it.. The rubs in the area are only on one side of the trees, and poke marks on the trees behind the rub.. We checked again and again.. The area under his chin is not a log, it is his left foot.. It is bent as he is walking... Would love to find the shed or see him this year.. Should be very easy to identify him... Hurry up Bowseason !!!

Only named two buck so far. One is cripple... he got hit by a car but survived and now walks with a limp and the one half of his rack it messed up.
The other is Double D's... he's got two drop tines. We referred two him as double drop tines and then I decided to shorten it to Double D's
