deer will not move in this heat and I'm wasting my time going out is what I was told. I'm still seeing them move just not like I was.

I haven't been seeing them move either, not even going and coming.................that is until this morning. I watched 10 deer(4 bucks) go by this morning. One halfrack was chasing does, one buck worked a scrap, and a nice 8 pt. was tearing up a tree. All out of range but very cool. Don't worry about the heat, things are picking up.

If the wife or girlfriend said she was in the mood...would you say "Not now dear, it's too hot" ?????

Deer moving less in warmer than average temperatures is not a myth. I wouldn't call anytime you can go hunting a "waste of time" though. Less than ideal conditions, yes, but its a good time of year to be in a treestand in the upper midwest. You never know what might walk by.

Heat or not, you cannot kill them from the couch. The girls are holed up conserving energy. They're being annoyed by smaller bucks confused by the new smells in the woods. The big boys have hot does in lock down. It's going to break wide open any second, and it only takes 30 seconds to change the outcome of your day! Are you willing to risk missing that window?

Im just not seeing them like I was. If I do it's just a confused doe that's rushed out into the field. after dark though I'm seeing them in groups

AMEN, Brother Will, AMEN!!! I'm limited to the amount of time I get to hunt, a little warm out there, but I'll be out there tonight because it's one of the rare evenings I'm gonna be able to. Hopefully, dragging a buck home here in a few short hours.....

Deer HAVE to do a few things, eat, drink, breed. If you have a waterhole of anykind where you might hunt it might not be a bad idea to try and take advantage of that. Like many have said though, its tough to kill em if you are not out amongst em.
