I am in the market for a good pack for packing in and out every hunt with my saddle for whitetail hunting Been waiting in line since August for a mystery pop up 28 was wondering if any of y’all use this pack? I have both packs, or rather the pop 18 and treehouse. These are two very different packs with different applications. The treehouse isn't much a load hauler at all. What it is a regular pack for carting day to day stuff youd use on stand. Youd be hard pressed lashing a stand and sticks to it. It does function extremely well for its intended use. Plenty of capacity and very convenient with the front opening. When you in the stand and its hanging it's easy to acess your contents without excessive noise or movement. It has plenty of pockets for storage and organizing. I think of it as an improvement on the sitka tool bucket. I think it will work fine with your tree saddle equipment. The pop up series is load hauler, these are made to function as non compressed day pack and will expand to haul out a load of meat. I havent thought about it as using the load shelf to haul a stand and sticks howvever I am sure you could manage it. That said I would think it would be a pain to depoy and reattach it. Honestly I think there are better options for stand hauling. However with your saddle it will work fantastic. Put it either in the bag or in a dry bag on the load shelf. As load hauler and day pack the pop ups are the cats ass. They really work well in the day pack mode, low profile, good capacity and move with you. That are way more compact then a compressed full size frame and bag. They dont carry weight as well as say my MR guide lite frame or either of my Kifaru frames however they carry damn well for what they are. Under 80ish and they are really nice... Here is a picture of my 18 with an elk Quarter this sept. The main difference with these two pack is your able to haul meat loads with the pop up...the tree house will be more functional in the tree when your on stand
Trail thank you so much this is exactly what I was looking for. I currently use a eberlestock x2 and like it a lot just to many buckles to undo! To access the main pack. So how do you think the pop up 28 will work in the tree? I like being able to haul a heavy load for packing out deer! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The 28 will be fine to acess if you hang it by the top lop so its facing you. The lid will be closed as it comes down, it will be a slight pia but not insurmountable.
