I got this guy on a trail camera in SE Ohio.

My guess is that it's a black color-phase coyote. Agree or disagree? I've never seen a black one in the wild before, but I know they do exist in this area. A rarity, to be sure.

As a point of reference, here's a yearling buck standing a bit closer to the camera.

Maybe if the king had better cameras we would be able to tell what it is?

The King is a low-roller. He can barely afford batteries to keep his cameras running.

heck thats cause the king uses a camera that gets like 15 pics per set of 4 D cell batteries, upgrade and live the miller high life!

Cool pic, but it looks exactly like my sisters dog....the only thing that has me thinking coyote is the bushiness of the tail. Who knows.

Hey man, I've been getting 3+ weeks and 400+ pictures per camera out of each set of 4 el-cheapo Rayovac C-Cell batteries. Not too shabby for a $40 camera.

I was JK, I have the same cam, and got the same results. I now get 10x that on AAs....but like you point out, the camera is alot more money too.

What's the final decision, yote or dog el King?
