Well yesterday was a Great day for my 11 year old Tanner. He got his first Deer in the youth weekend. It was a BB but to him/and me, a real trophy and an awesome moment shared. We couldnt be happier for him.The bigger Moma was trailing to far behind to get a shot and the BB was just about to step into our wind so I ask if he wanted to take the shot and he gave the nod. It was 30 yards with open sights with a single shot 20 ga. He said he didnt feel it go off It was spine shot and he had to do a follow up but handled it like a Man! It will eat very well. Ill never forget coaching over his shoulder and hearing his out of control breathing and mine mixed He mentioned after words how he couldnt breath right for some reason, I explained buck fever to him!! He wil be Bow hunting with Dad next year
See what a good nap does to a hunter! Crick thanks for sharing this with me via text like I said it helps a lot. CONGRATS to the future of hunting and one hell of a Dad! T
my boy's first is still fresh in my mind from last year... such a special thing, especially when dad gets to share it with him... I think I was more thrilled than he was... I fully admit that I enjoy taking my kids hunting more than I like doing it for myself... congrats to him brotha!!!!! I know both of you are walkin on clouds today!!!! I promised my boy we'd mount his first deer, so he's got one in his room now... mom wasn't too fond of it but she lost that war...
