I think I'm at 4 coats on both the riser and the limbs, should finish up tomorrow with this part.

Just going by looks, sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!! You can't hardly tell where It was splintering. It's a good thing the other limb has a big scratch In It or I wouldn't know the difference from the 2. I'll find out the real test though when I string It up. God have mercy!!!

Nope, not till she's almost done.;) Tomorrow I'll finish up with putting the finish on It and then It's the long wait till hopefully Friday when the wraps come In that I ordered from Onestringer. The riser does look pretty sharp though Zach, Russ knew what he was talking about with getting the right finish.

Yeah thats character alright, the limbs are black glass, kinda look like ****e all beat up!! I also thought about having it dipped from Sipsey River for $100... we'll see. This could just turn into my rabbit bow!

    Yep, black will do that!

I don't like the looks of brown fiberglass on my limbs, drives me crazy!! That's why I thought I'd try this stuff out.

Quick question guys, can a person put too much finish on the limbs? My last coat didn't go on near as well, kinda rough looking on the fiberglass part. Pisses me off!!

    Steve.

You can give them a light sanding to clean up the rough patches.:busted:

Kanga has the right idea. I usually put on about three to four coats. I coat it with two, sand with about a 400 grit, then coat agian. After my last coat, I sand the whole thing with 600 grit or 1000 grit. In the past, ive waxed with fine steal wool and past wax. Either way, you get the same effect.

Nope. 1000 grit will do nothing but polish it. That is, if lightly sand. Dont get into it, just polish it up. It will smooth out any minute imperfections. 600 up is very fine sand paper. Ive used toilet paper more abrasive before.:d I use 1000 grit to polish every bow i make.

Everything Is pretty much done besides putting the skins on the limbs that I ordered from Onestringer, they should be here Friday. Am I happy on how It turned out, nope! My top limb has a small tiny twist to It after I draw It back and let It down (same limb that had the splinters that I fixed). I won't shoot It till tomorrow after I get the shelf finished. I hope like hell the tiny twist goes away (I've seen them go away before, the small tiny ones anyway) but If not, sh!t happens I guess being It was a risky project to begin with but It still doesn't make me feel any better.:mad1: I am happy with how It turned out for looks though, I think I did alright there. Here are some pictures from different angles. Thanks for the help everyone, greatly appreciated.

Edit: 4/2/09- I shot about 100 arrows out of It today and the limb twist Is almost gone!!
