Bo, believe me brother, Ive made some terrible shots in my day and had some terrible ideas on where to shoot deer. Live and learn. Best thing you are doing is listening to others, because we have all done some wild stuff.

Keep at it. I like to make deer hunting simple. I aim exactly where I want to hit a deer. It hasnt let me down.

My first and only deer kill with a bow I had no blood that I could find on the ground. She was 1/4 away and I hit her a little far back but caught liver and 1 lung. I did find her about 80 yards away. Like I said no blood that I could see to trail. Plenty of blood inside her cavity and around where she laid. If you hit your deer as high as the dot u had it could take awhile for blood to show up in the ground. Also curious if u found ur arrow, hair or blood?

It was completely clean so I know I missed...and im glad I did. I appreciate the persistence with me to get out there and find it.

I appreciate everyone helping me!!! I love this forum and I love this group of guys. Bowhunting has become very important to me and I have learned a lot from all yall!!!!!!

I would get back out there right away after a miss but depending on how much stomping around you had to do for the arrow maybe give it a couple days but if you were seeing deer in the stand id be back in it!

Glad to hear you missed and good on you for owning up to your mistakes. As a new bowhunter myself I am learning as much as I can just like you.
