Just thought some might want to see what has worked killer for me for several seasons now. The body on the Tom starred in the first Heartland Bowhunter DVD and I got it off Hunsucker. I changed it around a bit to fit my needs and man has it performed well. Toms HATE this thing :D I used a giant spring paper clip thingy to hold the fan and allow me to take it off if I want. I learned this from the HB boys that movement is a big key in deaks. The tail moves up and down and really gets there attention ;) I used a spring to bring the tail back down after finding out that a tail wind is your enemy in not letting tail down sometimes. It works great now. I also started off with a stake in the body but made a permanent stand out of 1/4" rod. The deak can pivit somewhat side to side in the wind with a limiting string attached to neck and stand for added movement. I used real wings that I cliped down to scale and gives it that strut draging wing look. I used the pretty boy in the past but its kinda big and sometimes scares 2 year olds off, and its somewhat loud to carry. This deak also has a wire handle on its back whare I can just pick it up and go all in one piece. Im going to add a floursent orange head cover when transporting so as not to get shot at :D I use the pretty girl laying Hen with it and attached a pin stake to her for hold down power, something Knight and Hale failed to do. I got tired of stuffing dirt clogs in her for weight ;) I use an old shakespere direct drive fishing reel attached to a wooded handle spooled with no stretch spider wire. It got a swivel on the end that attaches to the deak pull string so I can take it off for transport. A J hook is needed just in front of it to hold string close to ground. I just made my father inlaw one and he said no more pretty boy for him. He loved it and it helped take two birds this weekend for grand kids in the youth season :) My 10 year old got to see it in action Saturday, and was seconds from pulling the trigger, and lets just say I hate four wheelers and turkey season  just thought I share my setup.
