Guys I couldn't help myself. I have to share this. This is Django. They guy working on him says he is uncharacteristically dark and its several weeks out before its ready. So you guys from the mid-west don't laugh. We have a different breed of deer down here in "Jawja." To me he's a trophy. Fourth big deer I have killed in three years from this same set. Does anyone have a clue as to why his bone is so dark?
That's a good deer anywhere! Congrats. As for the color, some deer just have different characteristics. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
Respectable. My guess on coloration would be a combination of diet, genes and what he may've been rubbing on...have a lot of long leaf pines around?
Pines for sure. Long leaf is questionable. he had hooked trees as big as your calf muscle up a long hollow...
When I lived in GA, it seemed like the pulp wood pines were sappier than say a white pine up north, but the warmer temps might've just helped the sap run. Sticky stuff! I reckon it may play some role.
Looks awesome. Love the color, personally I think it looks way sweeter, but everyone has preferences. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
