Me and my old college roommate packed up and traveled to the Gila Wilderness to hunt and kill a few Merriams. I'll let the pictures tell most of the story, but in short, he tagged out within 3 hours, and I came home with 2 empty tags.

Looks like a great trip. I am going to take my son on a wilderness hike/camp this summer after graduation. Looks like that might be a good option. Really enjoyed the photos, thanks.

    Those Amish sure can shoot.:D

    1. Love your buddy's beard.
    2. You're graying?
    3. I miss hiking/camping trips. Well done.
    4. Nice birds.
    5. While you were gone, I said you love Instagram. For that, I apologize.

He grew it for the trip. He looked like a hobo. It was awesome.

I've been graying since I was 18. It is a sign of intellect...right?

I try to work in at least one backpacking trip a year.

We saw/heard so many birds, they just would not cooperate. It was very frustrating.

 My wife is the Instagram freak of our family.

Looks like an awsome trip Hook!

I think you'd really like taking a trip into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness up here in Minn. Then you could stop by on your way in or out :tu:

If we would have known that we would have been camping next to that lake, we most definitely would have brought some rods, but since that move was a game time decision, we did not bring any rods. I talked to a couple that were catching some nice rainbows out of the lake though.

We also watched a bald eagle dive bomb a group of diver ducks in the lake one afternoon.

YUP, you spent too much time reading and laying around the campfire. Obviously your buddy went hunting. LOL Those are fun trips. We used to do getaways all the time. We haven't had one in a couple years except fishing trips etc. No camping last year. We keep talking about this year but haven't made plans so it's probably not going to happen.
