I just thought I'd share a recent experience I had with XOP treestands. I own a couple of their Vanish stands. About two weeks ago, my brother in law and I were out hanging a couple of stands. I was about 15ft up the tree and I somehow dropped the stand. It hit the ground and the seat and bracket shattered. I thought great, now I'm going to have to get a replacement seat or buy another stand. I looked it over and thought it would be easy enough to just replace the seat and bracket. I called them to order another seat and the guy on the phone told me to send him a picture of the broken one. I did and when saw the Pic, he said no, we can't send you a seat. He said the metal parts of the stand are lifetime warranty. He said what's your address, we will send you a complete new stand. I got the new stand two days later. Say what you want about XOP but that is customer service above and beyond! Sent from my SM-S916U1 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That's great to hear! I've had relatively limited dealings with XOP over the years, but they've all been very positive. And I'm not sure what happened, but it would take a hell of a hit for a metal seat platform to shatter like that just from falling out of a tree. I've tossed countless Lone Wolf stands from 20 feet to the ground over the last 20 years and have never had a single issue. Did it land on a rock or something hard by chance?
I don't think it landed on anything hard. It was actually in an area off of a swamp that sometimes floods in the spring, so I would think it would be generally fairly soft. I've done the same as you with the stands, sometimes dropping them out of the tree when I take them down. It really shocked me when it just sort of shattered the way it did. Interesting to hear about aluminum shattering like that. The casting must of had porosity throughout the metal. Good thing you broke it from dropping and not after sitting in it. If they’re willing to replace your stand fr a metal quality issue then I’d assume theirs not many made like that. Everyone’s dropped a hang on once or twice. lol I just purchased an air raid stand from them due to lone wolfs insane prices. Although, lone wolfs might be worth their salt after hearing this. My one big complaint is the 8 foot straps. Ain’t no way a guy can hang a mobile set up on a tree that size. I cut 2 feet off my straps and they are way more manageable. Also, I bought some shoulder straps from elevate stand co. Elevate nailed it with comfort for their shoulder straps.
The new Lone Wolf Patriot Series is $300 compared to the $220 on the XOP Air Raid. The LW is made here which is why it costs more. They're all perfectly good stands. just paying more to get it made in the USA.
I didn’t even realize lone wolf relaunched the patriot series. That might of swayed me to buy one of them. I have an original assault hang on that I run with latitude carbon sticks and it’s treated me well. It’s nice to have 2 mobile stands to run if the wind switches. I agree that XOP makes a solid product. Cody helping to design their stands is what made me look at their series. It just took a little adjusting to make it more ergonomic for me.
anyone here have or ever used the XOP revolt climber? looking to purchase one and interested to hear some reviews. seems to be the lightest climber on the market, along with the LW crossover, which is like 2.5x the cost
The LW Assault hang-on with sticks is a great stand! Super lightweight. I had one, but I didn't use it very often, so I gave it to a young hunter just getting into deer hunting. My LW sit and climb is all I use anymore.
That’s an awesome experience! XOP really went above and beyond by sending you a complete new stand instead of just a part. It shows they truly stand by their warranty and value their customers. Fast, hassle-free service like that definitely builds trust and loyalty.
