    Catfish...

6.5" foot ugly sticks with 12 lb test, chicken liver on the bottom between 10pm and 5am...

    Bass...

7" rods with live bluegill or carolina rigged plastics in farm ponds...

    Turtles...

Sturdy stick, 10" of string, and a meduim sized treble hook toped with liver or rotting meat, thrown in weed filled bogs...

What did the bass weigh? Dad used to trap snapping turltes, but your way sounds a tad more humane. :D

Great pics Simon. I should get a few of the snappers. We have a bunch of turtles in a swamp near here where I fish for spawning gills and crappie. I just never knew how to catch them or cook them. On the plus side I have saved 3 so far from the road. I always stop when I see them crossing and help them on the way. They are usually just small painted turtles though.

It is a shame i lost interest in fishing. Since i sit around most of the time doing nothing. Use to fish all the time. I dont like fish so i quit fishing. could just throw em back like i use to. I prefer salt water fishing but we have none of that around here.

    Awesome!

I've been doing a lot of fishing myself this year too. I took many years off due to lack of time with the competitive archery thing, but I'm really enjoying it now and am actually in fixing up an older boat so I can have a bit more room than my current canoe. Good to see someone else out there enjoying themselves on the water!

Just last week caught my limit in crappie. I haven't been catfish for a couple of years. Seems to me I do more ice fishing that summertime fishing for some reason. I walked by my trash can the other day and realized why ice fishing has its positives. That's a great bass btw.

Nice, I have just been out on the river dropping tubes and tossing cranks. The smallies are hitting ok. Mix it in with a few festy rockies and a few brews it works for me. I am sure sometime this weekend we will hit the cats off the dock with the trebs and hotdogs. Nothing like a drunk trying to reel in a 24 inch cat.

Those are nice fish, and yes, catfish are really first class eating.

Some nice cats, and that's a pig of a bass. All my bass fishing has really put a dent in the catfish supply in my freezer so far this year.

Went last Saturday and Sunday and caught about 30 good bass, and headed out again this weekend to southern Illinois to a different lake.
