I just bought my son a new Diamond razor's edge, the guy at Gander Mtn. said that it doesn't need a stabalizer, now I'm no expert so what do ya'll think. I don't remember seeing anyone shoot a bow without one.
You don't need one. Both my kids have that bow....great bows, you'll be glad you got it. Alot of bows don't need a stabilizer....for hunting.
I wouldn't worry about balancing it by adding weight, but I'd add some sort or vibration reducer. Maybe a lightweight soft rubber stabilizer.
Have you shot one of these? They don't have any vibration or noise as is....pretty darn amazing actually (my son's is set at 25" @ 50lbs - can't say about what it might be longer or heavier)
It is not required at all, stabilizers are just personal preference. I shoot one on some bows and not on others.
Thanks for the info guys. Hey WV hunter, a question for ya'. I heard that the bear apprentice' draw weight went up as you moved to a longer draw length, how does it work on the diamond? Can you set any weight at any draw length? Sory if that's a stupid question, I never messed with bows that much, just shot' em.
Yes, you can set whatever you want, it doesn't automatically move up the poundage by adjusting the d/l. These come in two sizes 15-30lbs, and 30-60lbs. The d/l is adjustable right on the cam....from 19"-29" regardless of the poundage of the limbs. Not sure what size you got. If you have the 15-30, and your son outgrows that poundage....you just send the bow back and for $50 they will upgrade the limbs to 30-60. Sweet setup, and it will fit most kids for a long time Enjoy!
Thanks, I got the 30/60 and my 10 year old pulled 30 pounds easy. After we set it up this weekend he should be able to shoot the states minimum draw of 35 pounds to hunt.
