I got my son into hunting last year he turned 15, hes tall and thin and only pulls around 40lbs could pull more if he wanted but I want him to shoot accurate first. So I wanted to get him a very sharp broadhead that isnt very big so he could get a lot of penetration. This is the broadhead I got at ****s sporting real cheap.I forgot what its called, but it not a big name.Does anyone recognize it? Has anyone ever used this broadhead? How did it do?

75 grain should be the max weigth. My Son killed 4 with a 40lb bow and 75 grain Muzzys. Don't skimp on broadheads especially for a new hunter.

It is 75 grains. This just seems sharper than a muzzy. but not as tough probably. Nice lookin new heads cant wait to try one

I believe those are the Carbon Express Troika ST3. I picked up at pack at Wal-Mart just for fun a year or so ago. My honest opinion is that you can find better broad heads for not much more money. Like others have said I would skimp on the broad heads. I would look into a cut-on-contact head like the Magnus broad heads, never shot them but have heard great stuff about them and you should get really good penetration out of them.

Higher point weight will add foc and that should yield better penetration.

The only benefit lower point weight has is higher speed. That has little benefit in a hunting situation.

Montec G5 is what my wife shoots at 40lbs. It's an awesome cut on contact head, that flies very similar to a field point.

Magnus Stingers, or Magnus buzzcuts. I can say with confidence that they are the best penetrating broadhead. Good luck!
