He recommended it because it was at a good price. Once the OP said a good quality sight was in budget he suggested a more high end sight. I don't get what your problem is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I shoot a single pin out to 30 yards. Set at 22yds im about an inch and a half high at 10 yards and an inch and a half low at 30. I have TONS of stands and 99% of them I dont have a shot over 30 yards anyways
I love my single pin. Gives me 1 pin up to 30 yds. After 30 I better range the deer and adjust pin. If not, I am probably rushing it/guessing yardage which I dont like to do. Have never been burned with it yet.
I quit shooting mulie pins a few years ago. Now I only shoot a single pin. Hunting especially low light I can see my target so much clearer. I have heard that you won't have the time to change you sight to another yardage. Mostly do we not hunt blinds or tree stands I do. Soon as I get settled in range several places so I know what deer will be at I did this even while using multi pins. I had a deer come in last year when I wasn't paying attention an surprise me. I got my bow an he trotted off from 20 to 30. I knew the yardage. Dialed it in an smoked him. No problems. The hha sight is my sight of choice very bright pin. Easy to sight in an east to change in a rush. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I have the Range Rover. I love it!...... but to answer your question. if your just sitting in a tree stand or a blind. i could see the single pin being difficult to use. but if your doing spot and stalk. your son should be fine with a single pin. I get the jump on deer all the time while scouting. and i usually have forever and a day to take out my phone and snap a few pictures. that plenty of time to range, adjust, and shoot.
I have used a single pin React-one for two years and love it, brother in law switched to an HHA single last year and loves it. I've killed five deer with mine in the last two years and no problems at all. MY opinion on singles is that they sort of force you to get a better idea of your yardage rather than to take a sloppy guess. I get situated in my ladder stands and range key points around me so I know pretty much to the foot how far any shot is when a deer presents it. My react one has a simple dial and marked yardages but I hardly ever need to change it. I like the simplicity of them and the better sight window...I feel more confident with it than I ever did a five pin but didn't really have many problems with multiples either. The fact that a single makes you give a second thought to yardage would be my biggest brag on their usefulness. If he has his own money and is considered old enough to hunt, then he's old enough to make his own decisions concerning gear IMHO.
I know I'm the new guy to the forum but I will say I shoot a carolina Archery foxfire sp sinle pin its a fixed place sight no adjusting just raise and lower and I'd never go back my back up bow has a 3 pin and I'm accurate with it but I feel more confident in my singlenpin no clutter just feels better to me I say go for it he will love it
Thank you - it arrived today. I'll follow up in a week or so and let everyone know how it turned out. Single pin going on this weekend.
On the bow - he loves it. Thx I shot it a few times. The single pin has a Crystal clear view for sure.
