My youngest son took a nice buck Sunday evening with a muzzleloader during our youth season. He took the deer with a youth Rossi .50 Cal. at 50 yards and it only went 60 yards. It was working scrapes when he shot it. The buck weighed 220 lbs. and had 5" bases. At least 5 years old. Nice trophy for a young man and we had a great time together. It is so fun to see him get so excited about this. Great memories.
nice? im a grown a$$ man and would give my right, well you know, just to see a buck this big in my sights! congratz to him
Thanks for all the kind responses guys. Really a thrill to get to experience with a child. We had such a great afternoon watching deer, turkeys, raccoons, etc. Just a beautiful hunt that ended with a great shot and a nice buck for my son. Germ, you should be nervous, the buck I was hoping he could shoot did not show up. Which means, dear old Dad might just get lucky with the bow. lol Good luck all!
