Thought about investing in a goPro or some camera that I could use for hunting. Well, I just ordered a gooseneck clip on holder for my Galaxy Note 3. My phone has a 64gb memory card and the ability to shoot 4k resolution video and take 13 MP photos. The mount is about 30" I believe.

    Here is the mount:
Amazon.com: BESTEK Cell Phone Clip Holder Stand with Sitck-on Mount + Gooseneck One Clip Clamp mount on car, desk, windshield, dashboard, table for iphone 5,4s,3gs,ipod,gps,PDA,samsung galaxy,HTC, nokia,lg,blackberry holder ect. BTIH750: Cell Phones & Ac

I'm thinking I can clip it on to something around me. Bow, treestand, treestep, shotgun, etc... and can film everything I do with my phone. Guess it is worth a shot for next season! Figured I would share.

Just an FYI on this. Unless you have a 4k TV, don't bother to record video on your camera in 4k, you won't be able to see a difference in video quality because your TV can't show you 4k. That'll save you some battery life.

Thanks guys. I plan on getting another battery I can use to swap into it. They have some that will double/triple battery life. Should have no problem making it through all day hunts. Also, I believe if I record in 4k I can "trim" or crop the video to be 1080 quality. So essentially 4k gives you more zoom to 1080 quality.

It won't be the best but it'll be good enough to have for a lifetime and to show family/friends.

No. 4k doesn't give you anything other than 4k.

I do custom audio/video for a living. To use an analogy, trying to turn 4k into 1080 would be like trying to turn a Mathews into a Hoyt. It just doesn't work. You can stick Mathews stickers all over the Hoyt, but it's still a Mathews.

The problem isn't with the camera, the problem is with the TV. It would be the equivalent of trying to watch HDTV on a standard Def TV. It just doesn't compute.

If you have a 4k TV, then yes, it would be worth filming it in 4k. If you don't it's worthless.

Good idea. That will get you going. I just use my iPhone a lot for other stuff and wouldn't want it tied up as a camera.

Look at the Looxcie.com cameras also.
