After spending the last 10 years going to fall soccer games, fall basketball, and kids events I am done with that part of my life. What I have learned is that now, in my 50s, I can do three sits in a row and then need a break. My vision and hearing are not what they were, and I have had more deer sneak up on me than in my entire career. Ladder stands are not for me. I bought six of them and set them up, but I'll be getting stick steps and hanging stands for my spots next season. I sleep better in my stand. I did have a majestic buck at 11 yards yesterday morning, he was old and had stickers everywhere, got bow back, and could not get the right angle for a shot. Watch him trot away as he must of seen me move. Here are some shots
@Justin tell me which one. I have 176 on the wall and would have replaced it a heartbeat with the buck I had 11 yds from me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If your ladder stands have a metal seat or back rest sell it for scrap and buy the fabric style that is widder than your a$$. Comfort is king.
I have two requirements for ladder stands. 1. Fabric seat that flips up when I want to shoot. 2. Platform that runs all the way to the tree. I hate the ones where I'm floating out in space when I stand up. Hawk, Muddy, and Millenium all make solid options. This year, I put up two Muddy Skybox Deluxe stands, and I love them. https://www.gomuddy.com/products/the-skybox-deluxe/
I was looking at the Millennium stands for next year I like the L110 design. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not 50 just yet but, I'm with you on these. I started wearing glasses for the first time in my life....but I needed them the last 3-4 years and did not realize it.
