I finally got my New Zealand Red Stag hunt edited and uploaded to huntvids and I decided not to censor it. I realized I'm really filming my hunts for my fellow hunters and you guys understand what hunting is all about and would appreciate the whole story.

Hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

    Thanks

WOW!!! What a huge massive set of antlers it has and a double lung shot and it made it that long to go down, they are some tough animals. What kind of hunt was it , meaning did ya'll pack tents and gear in so far then set up camp? How far away from camp did ya'll go to hunt? Sorry for the questions just interested , I have never done anything like that and would like to hear more about it. Thanks for sharing the video, absolutely amazing!

Thanks. Now I just need to figure out where to fit them big Antlers in my house:)

It was a clean pass through shot with a Muzzy3, 1-3/16" blades. Everybody looked at it and couldn't figure out how it made it over night. When we were moving him you could see and hear the air coming out of his lungs.

I was hunting at an outfitter so it wasn't as hard as it could of been. NZ has so many Red Stags that the government drops 1080 pesticide pellets in the mountains to keep the population down:( I told then we have plenty of American hunters that would do the job for free just fly us in:)

It's good to see Scotty Bevins guiding American bowhunters. I taught him him well. I look forward to having him in Colorado hunting with me this October.

Congrats on your hunt, and do not diminish it in any! It wasn't Safeway, nor should you concern yourself with the sanctimonious pud pounders who will never do what you accomplished. Good on you mate!

Isn't New Zealand an amazing place?

That's funny:) What a small world. Scott was fantastic, he totally got how I wanted to bow hunt for these animals and we worked our ares off. We were always the last one's in each night, he has that never quite attitude. I sent him a link to the video as well.

Yes, NZ is beautiful. The South Island reminded me a lot of Colorado. Took weeks before my knees recovered from those hills:)

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Never say never. My wife loved my four days of hunting at
Shane Quinn's as much as she did the rest of the vacation.

I recommend everyone put this on their bucket list. Your wife's will love you for it and you'll have a hunting adventure of a lifetime.

I'll put together the Sika deer portion of it later on but didn't have the camera with me when I shot the Ram. Wish I had.

    Wild hog hunting this weekend.

Well done and congrats on a fine beast, Scotty is a great Guy to hunt with. Shame I won't see him again this Fall in Colorado. The Antlers on some of those Stags were amazing, great footage.
