Wanted to put in a plug for Rage broadheads coming from someone who had never been very impressed. Two blade Rage's were the first mechanical I shot, which was probably 3 years ago. Shot one deer, broke both blades and switched to Killzones. Have had great success with Killzones, but picked up a pack of Rage hypodermics at the end of last season on clearance for cheap. Had one head on a back up arrow in my quiver and for some random reason, knocked up that arrow last night in the stand. Had a large doe come in at exactly 32 yards. Shot was a tad forward, however, knocked the deer to the ground. It got up, ran twenty yards and expired. My arrow was stuck in the ground, complete pass through. After recovering the deer, I noticed I blew through both shoulder blades, at 32 yards! Very impressed by the penetration with the Rage Hypos. Sure, the blades were mangled, but who cares. Will make me think twice about what heads I continue to use for the rest of the season. Shooting a Bear Agenda 7, 70 lbs, 29.5 draw.

Not bashing the broadhead, but I think that story is more of a testament to the bow set up then the rage. It takes a lot of power to push that big of a mechanical through that much bone.

I agree that that is more on the bows specs than the broadhead. They blades should have been in much better condition though.

Good point! I have never blown through both shoulders like that. First deer with my Agenda, though. Upgraded this year from a 2007 Hoyt Vectrix, so just a little difference between the bows!

Not just the bow set up but bow/arrow combination also I bet. But yeah 70lbs and a 29.5 inch draw is gonna pump the arrow good.

I use rage even though they make me nervous. I have had good success with them and had a complete pass through and short tracking job on everything I've shot with them. Which includes deer, hogs, coyote, even a beaver. Like I said I'm skeptical of them but I told myself I would keep using them until they fail me.

Shot with a rage last nighr, yes that is the entry and yes that is a lot back... Backed out gave her 3 hours and she died 60 yards from where I shot her.

Rage cage is my to BH. But everyone gets to be a player, what works for one doesn't have to work for everyone! No right or wrong choice IMO, pick what you feel most confident and comfortable using!

Awesome man! Congrats on the kill.
I had a similar experience last year with the Rage Hypodermic. I shot through a small buck's shoulder at 20 yards and I watched him run a short distance and fall dead. I shot him with my Mathews Creed (29/70). It didn't hurt the blades at all. I have been using Rage broadheads since they hit the market. I have used Killzones too and they work really well. I have to say that the Rage Hypodermics are the best that Rage has to offer. Devastating broadheads. I have them on the Easton Injexion Deep Six FMJs now and I am waiting to see what that setup does.
