Killed this guy yesterday morning from a beautiful pre-hung Lone Wolf stand with big, wide shooting lanes on my private lease. There's not a big, elaborate story to this one. It's a stand that is a proven producer year in and year out. It was my first sit on that farm for the year on a perfect 25 degree morning with the wind in my face. 45 minutes after light he came right up the trail he was supposed to, wind at his back, and I shot him at 25 yards. Ended up being a bit quartered-to, so I got the near lung, liver, and out the guts. We went about 200 yards in total and it was a relatively easy recovery.

I shot him with a 2" mechanical broadhead (Spitfire XXX) that I was told by the experts of the Internet is not a wise or ethical choice. I got a full pass-through and the holes were nice and big, allowing for plenty of blood to escape so we could find him. I'm thankful my child arrow setup was able to accomplish this task.

One more buck tag to fill. Bring on November!
