Im sure most of ya'll have already seen the buck I got yesterday for the Md opener but for those that havent hear ya go! I shot him at 7:20 after he came in to 25yrds and had a couple minute staredown with me, due to the fact i was hunting a stand that did not have enough backdrop at all! Needless to say me and the Ultimate Camo won the staredown..haha!
He was quartering to me but I never thought he was quartering to me as severe as the shot seems, in my eyes he was perfectly broadside but my shot says different?? The entrance is right behind the shoulder a tad high and the exit is under my sight guard on my bow??
He also had a hole in his right ear about the perfect size of a 50cal muzzleloader ball/bullet? I dont know how it got there, it could have been many things??

Nicely done! A buck on opening day - you sure can't beat that.

As for the angle of the shot, I've been there my friend. I've shot a few does that to me looked darn near broadside only to find that the entrance/exit wounds told a much different story. The position of the front legs when you shoot can make a world of difference in what your eyes see in regards to the angle. All in all, not a bad shot and certainly a great way to start off the season. Congrats!
