She is getting married to a wonderful Christian young man ... they have honored God in their courtship and they will begin their lives together as one tomorrow. They did it right in every way ... they paid off all their debt, so they are debt free .... they kept their flesh at bay and they are both willing to listen to advice ... at least some of the time I will be having a part in the actual preaching ceremony, and of course my role as dad ..... it's a bitter sweet thing ... please pray for our day .... gonna dance my fool head off :D there is the bride and groom to be... she does look like her mom :p :D I am off to the church ... Wedding is at 11 ..... this is what I am going to say, tho this is just an outline ... as I will try and preach from the heart... Today, we are all here to celebrate something VERY Spiritual. This isn’t just something that saved people do just to do …. Mat 19:3 - 8 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Gen 2:21 - 24 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Did you ever notice how a marriage ceremony is one of the biggest events in the life of people? The birth of a child is another … it is because from the beginning it has been God’s will .. we just read about it ..Marriage pictures Jesus Christ and the Church .. it is a type, and a very important one. So 2 individuals are to become one .. that only works if Jesus is the third person in that relationship … He is the common thread, the One that will guide and lead you two throughout your marriage.God gave you two each other … so that your union will give Him greater glory … so that your light will shine brighter … did you ever notice how one light in a dark space doesn’t really light up the area that much? But add one more light and the difference is much great than those individual lights apart. One Flesh …. You two complete each other. That is God’s plan. It is not like “Tying a Knot” like many people say, as a knot can be untied … Candy and Justin, you are both entering into a covenant with eachother and with the Creator of ALL things, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Like a puzzle that is separate, so are you and Candy …. She has pieces you need and you have pieces she needs …. And when God puts those pieces together in a few moments, we will have a perfect picture that makes sense … and this union is to Honor God by honoring each other - Eph 5:21 says, Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Where she is weak, you will be strong…where you are weak, she will be strong … tho times will get tough, if you honor God thru them it will only draw the two of you closer together … to each other, and to Jesus. T he two of you have honored God in your engagement … and He has only grown you closer this last year and a half and He has led you to this moment …. I know you will cherish it, now and for eternity .. I love you both so much and I could not be happier for both of you
