I agree with the majority and say go for it. You know your property and you know you can get in and out quietly so what's stopping you if you want him?

My concern was the 5:00 AM pictures. What time is he coming back in? Lets say its 9:00... I would try to slip in at 7:30 or so... but avoid bumping him at 5:00 AM.

I killed a nice ten point a couple years ago because I knew what time he was coming to bed down... it was always late morning. I enjoyed my breakfast, drank some coffee, shot some targets and then took my time getting to my stand by 9:00... he came in like clockwork at 9:50 for his final nap.

No day time pics. I'd say that answers your questions for the most part. How would you go about getting in there without blowing him out if he is in there early in the AM?

It's the Primo's wind checker app, it was $1.00. BUT there is a better App called antler insanity that does the same thing and alot more.

I was gonna go in there before 4am and just settle in and be quiet. I want to make it an all day sit because there is movement through there all day.

I do have day time pics of him and another bigger body buck, they are just blurry so i didn't post them.

I know it's a risk,, but sometimes to get the greatest results you have to take the greatest risk. It's a gamble...

4 AM sounds like a good plan. One thing is for sure... you're not killing him by sitting around talking about it.

I would say if you got does in there and using it regular there will be bucks there when they start to rut. Maybe even bigger than him. I would like to catch him when he's got hot does on his mind and not on his A game. I wouldn't think he would leave out if he's already got them there. I could be wrong. Just 2 cents.

Well, I bea t him to the spot this morning. I was in the tree by 345. chilly morning. acorns falling darker than dark with no moon. I didn't bump anything going on which is always good! About 25 minutes before legal shooting light he came out, and was crunching on acorns, it was so quiet, kinda funny hearing him eat. He was all around me within 5 yards. I was standing with the bow n my hand, sight light turned on. i could have easily made the shot, BUT i wouldnt be able to get it on film because of the darkness. He finally found the trail i walked in on and as soon as he smelled it, he bolted like he had been shot....No fooling that sniffer. About 730 i had a big ol nana doe come stromping in downwind from me, trying to pin me down and find me. stomping like crazy. she was a big old girl, and knew exactly what she was doing. I saw a few other doe heads in the thick stuff behind her. she circled around me, but couldnt find me. she just stomped off all pissed off. I feel that i did more harm than good. Lesson learned. I will be back in that spot once the rut hits, it's a great spot with intersecting runs.
