    Hey all,

I posted an intro thread last week when I joined the forum, and listed a few bows that I was looking at.

    1. Hoyt Maxxis
    2. PSE Surge
    3. Martin Cheetah

I was able to shoot 2 of the 3 (Martin was sold), but the PSE I shot was actually a 2014 Bow Madness 34. I liked both bows, but the PSE seemed to have a smoother draw cycle. Actual arrow speed was very close with a slight advantage going to the PSE. That being said, I wasn't too concerned with this as most newer bows are way faster than anything I'm used to. Both had solid back walls, and were easy to hold at full draw.

In the end I went with the PSE Bow Madness 34. It just felt a little better in my hand. Attached are a few pics. Now to get out and shoot to become one with the lady. Came with the stock "Whisker Biscuit" arrow rest which will be changed, and I will be looking at sights also, but the one on it seems ok. Package came with RTH Bow, Tru-Fire Release, Hard Case for $450. Not too bad. Hopefully I can put some meat in the freezer this year.

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes so far.

    Jon

Wow, you are right. The ad stated "2014 Bow Madness 34" ", so I assumed it was the BM 34. It actually measures 32" A2A. I've been duped, LOL!

    Thanks for the info Matt

Yeah that bow is a couple years old. The BM34 is a 2 cam bow!

    Congratulations though!

Thanks everyone! I got out to shoot it this weekend, and really like the way it feels. It's a little heavy, but I think that has more to do with me being out of the game for so long.

It is nicely balanced, and very fast for being set at 27" and 65#. The actual arrow speed measured 292fps. The sight pins were way off, but I finally got 6 arrows basically all touching at 20yds, and a 3-4" group at 40yds.

Now I will just keep practicing, have fun, and hope to get some meat in the freezer this year.
