So tell me, now that youve got it, Its probably not the rice burner your suby was, but hows the power? Is it as wicked as Rob/Pa says it is? I here the torque is unreal.
The Suby was significantly faster top end, but that's to be expected from a turbo car. Bottom end, like the 2-4k rpm range........the truck does make a lot more torque. I romped on it tonight from about a 30mph roll on a straight away, and it burned them pretty good the whole way to redline on dry pavement. :d It feels like it's making more power than my (soon to be) father in laws truck, an 08' F-350. It's no slouch, that's for sure. I'd bet it's faster than a lot of so called "sports cars" running around these days. I'd bet it would pull off a mid 14 second 1/4 mile trapping in the low to mid 90's.
What would that roughly be in an 1/8? I have a 2000 Chevy s-10 that will turn a 1/8 in 10.20's w/ nothing but a cold air.
Thanks again guys. Buckmaster, not really sure, but thinking back to my project volkswagon, when it was on the stock turbo with only a software flash it was running mid 14's in the 1/4 mile at around 93-95mph, and the 1/8 mile times were high 8's, low 9's in the mid/high 70's. I'd bet realistically this truck is in that same area. Matt, not as good as I thought. Good thing it's $1.79 a gallon around here. I'm getting roughly 12-13 in the city with normal driving, 11 if I drive like an idiot. On the highway on cruise control I'm just barely getting 15. I think the winter fuel up here is hurting me too, not sure though. I was hoping for 15 city, and 17 highway when I bought it, but I guess you don't get a 9500lb towing capacity with that kind of gas mileage.
