I got it for free... A friend of the family's mom died last fall and they lease the land to a farmer down the road and he plants it every year. They told me that if I wanted to hunt it this fall all I have to do is. Keep my truck in the driveway as much as possible. So the house don't look empty. It's an 85 acre farm with 30 of it wooden and a little pond in the back. I took a walk around it today and put a cam out. When I cam over a hill there was a 4 pt buck about 40 yards away eating at 2pm. There are so many deer tracks that I couldn't take a step without stepping on one. I can't wait to see what shows up on the cams and can't wait to get out this year. 69 days until the Michigan archery season..

to me id still give the owner 50 to 100$ as a gift to make em happy. well hunting free is ok but sooner or later they want some help to keep their land. but thats if you plan on hunting there for a long time.

Is it really a "lease" if it's free? Sounds like you got permission to hunt :) .

    Congrats and good luck man!

Looks like you got a good piece of land! Hope things go well for you this upcoming season. I would go ahead and put out some mineral sites if I were you to really find out what kind of deer the property is holding.
